It's been another one of those boring days here.

Sometimes, nothing at all happens and as boring as it may be, it can be a good thing.
I got no bills in the mail.
No bill collectors called.
No one got hurt.
No one failed a class.
No cats escaped or pissed on anything.
Nothing broke.

I am saddened by the loss of life and angered that terrorists harmed more innocent people somewhere in the world.
We are not the only country that has this problem yet our media treats these other countries as though their attacks are not as important as ours.
That makes me very sad.
When 9-11 happened, the whole world was with us.
We spent 5 minutes talking about this on the morning, noon and evening news.
We wonder why no one helps us when we ask for world support.
We show no sympathy or respect for anyone.

You are so right on this one.

One of the major story's on our news (after the biggest, namely Spain) was actually that the American media hardly paid any attention to it. It was discussed by 'international relations' experts on our news. The general conclusion was (This is prime-time news, the biggest channel) that apperently the Americans don't care as much if it happens somewhere else.

Of course, if Michael Jackson had been spotted in Madrid, driving a mini-van from bomb-site to bomb-site, THAT would have been covered by countless heli's from CNN, ABC, NBC or whatever they are called.

I love Americans so much, and am always the one that 'defends' them in discussions, but I don't understand some of them. Not at all, sometimes. It's so easy to show a little interest, a little love. You can't always take, you have to give sometimes, too. And I don't mean money, or military support. Just little things. They can color the view of people on an entire nation. I think a lot of problems would be avoided if there was more kindness in the hearts of some people. And a little more efford from all sides.

If you or anyone else is interested, this is the English version site for the Spanish Embassy here in Washington D.C. and in the upper right hand corner is an e-mail link. It doesn't give you an e-mail address, but it gives you a box to fill out and you can send a message still. It's not much, but it's something. It's more than the media is giving at least.

Wow. We are being discussed for our lack of sympathy and manners? What a wake up call for american media. But you know, they won't care. I feel awful living here sometimes. I'm ashamed of the way some of us behave. :(

Thanks for the link Karri. I appreciate it. :)

I agree with you.

I agree too! It's so pathetic that the media thinks our country has to be the center of attention anytime something happens.

WHEN WILL WE EVER LEARN!!!!

That's the sad thing mom, we the people know but our president and our media don't. And if they do, they don't care. :(
