WTF?
WTF is with pop ups on blogs?
There are a few blogs that I read that I am seriously considering not reading anymore due to nasty fucking pop ups.
Some of them are blogspot blogs but not all of them.
Are people making money off of these pop ups on their blogs?
Seriously, you'd be better off becoming some sort of affiliate like amazon or something like that rather than pop ups because it's beginning to piss me off to no fucking end.
It's annoying.
I even have pop up blockers and the google toolbar which stops most pop ups but this shit is the sneaky underhanded under browser shit.
If you have pop ups on your blog, can you tell me why and also why anyone should read you if we are going to keep getting spyware on our pcs because you make a few pennies off of them?
I am all for affiliate shit trust me. I do amazon and sideshow to make a few extra dollars to help pay for things, I know that every little penny helps to offset hosting fees etc but pop ups?

Out of curiosity, do I have any on mine? I don't think I did with knology, but I have no clue if mediacrap's space does or not. I usually have my popup stopper enabled, so if I have them at my blog, I may have missed it somehow.

I think that some people end up with popups when they put tagboard on their sites. At least that's the pattern I've been noticing lately. AND I don't think tagboard says upfront that you might get popups if you use their board. (But I'm not 100% sure of that, I haven't used one in a long time.)

You know, that might be it. I don't even stick around long enough to find out anymore. I get the pop up and leave. I don't even read their blogs. It irritates me.

ooh am I one? Lhiannon tells me every time she logs onto my site, she gets a pop up to play Pac Man. I told her she has a virus, because I have a Moxied blog and have no pop up scripts. Email me and tell me if Im one of them, so I can look into it.
Even tho I'd have NO IDEA how to fix it!

Nope, you're not one of them either. I honestly think it's tagboard or something like that now. It does sound like your friend has some sort of virus because I never get a pop up like that at your site ever. :)

I hate pop ups too, thankfully after I started using Opera I never get them (even when I look at shhhhhhhhh porn) hahahahaha .. I rarely use IE only when something doesn't work on Opera and that is very rare but does happen now and then :-P

Kat,
If you're so inclined, try either the Mozilla Firebird/Firefox browser, or Netscape. Mozilla doesn't recognize pop-ups and in Netscape's preference menu, you can turn pop-ups off entirely.
I use both and haven't seen a pop-up ad for quite some time. The world is much nicer without those annoying ads.

I have firefox but I just don't like certain things about it. Now with the pop ups, they still exist in mozilla but they just don't pop up? Like I'm still gonna have them on my pc but I won't see them to know they are umming me up correct?
