You down with OCD? Yeah you know me.
I have mentioned how I am OCD before. I am not that way about everything, just some things.
Like I was just doing the dishes when I realized exactly how I do dishes.
Plates first, then bowls, then cups, then steak knives, then butter knives, then forks, then spoons, then cooking utensils, then plastic ware.
Steak knives point down, everything else points up in the dish drainer. Cooking utensils must not be placed in the silverware slots, they have to lie on top of the dishes themselves.
Cups must be done glass first, then plastic.
Pans are always done last and must lay on top of dishes or standing on a towel to the side.
The noise while I do the dishes is fine but if anyone else does them, even though I appreciate it, the clanking of the silverware and the misplacement of items in the drainer, annoys me to no end.
I like my computer mouse and chair at a certain angle at all times and if people move them even a half inch, I know and get irritated.
My tv antenna is in perfect position. Touch it and die.
My vitamins and meds are on my desk in order of how I take them. Do not touch. I keel you.
My movies are in the rack on the wall to my specifics. Under no circumstances should you ever put a movie in title upside down. I will notice it immediately and have to fix it.
I do all my cleaning in order and do not get sidetracked. I am taking a mini-break right now but when I am finished, I know what is next and exactly how I am going to do it, how long it's going to take me and am already planning the next 5 chores after that.
But the sock basket and the boys room, I could care less about.
So what are you compulsive about?

Comments
I agree with you: movies (or CDs for that matter) should not be put in title upside down. Also, laundry should be hung in a certain way, which makes it easier to fold stuff when they're dry. I want to fold my t-shirts in a certain way, but couldn't care less about Jani's. I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of anything right now.
Have a good day!

I will go out and check that the car doors are locked and the parking brake set, at least 3 times once I leave the car. I check the locks in the house so much that it used to cause huge arguments between my husband and I. He's finally learned to just block me out. I can't stop myself. I have a ritual I do when I do it, walking from room to room, checking the windows and doors, all 3 times each. Then when I sit down, I go and have one more look around the house. Then, one more for good measure. Until something clicks and I'm satisfied. That's my biggest thing, my list is too long to go through, lol. :)

No not OCD...just little quirks! ;) hehehehe! I'm that way with laundry! Everything has to be separated just so then washed and folded just right or it drives me nuts.

there are things that are habitual I do and if the habit is broken then it feels wrong, like I have a sequence for preparing for bed that I follow.
then there are things that I have had to get over, like a clean and ordered house, can't happen with the kids I got so I live with it. i am an oranization freak so I am out of whack when things are not in their place. I notice when someone has taken a DVD from my collection and I must hunt it down and secure it. Or a CD for that matter.
maybe I need to lighten up now that i think about it.

For the most part, I am the most easy going, relaxed person ever but there are just certain things that have to be done a certain way and time. It drives me bonkers but more so if I don't do it that way.

oh my way to many to list.. the biggest is probably... that no one can read any part of my newspaper till I do... it drives me nuts if they fold it all screwy then give it back, now I can fold it and tear it up but hey it's mine.
I have to load the dishwasher a certain way and when I did dishes by hand I had a certain order too.
My towels have to folded in a certain way.
at work,I prefer, to use Black Ink only, at home what ever I can find that writes....
and speaking of pens, I can not stand a person that clicks their pens it drives me bonkers ... the VP has even taken the clicker mechanics out of the pens of people who click that sit near me... lol ... that's not a OCD thing is it?
ANyway alot more but that's enough of taking up your space.
((hugs))
