Controversial Toy Surprise Recalled

August 27, 2004 — A toy surprise found inside a bag of candy sold in Florida has stirred a lot of nerves, and controversy.
The toy is two towers with a jetliner in between that appears to be crashing into one of the buildings.
Anna Rodriguez bought a package of the candy for her grandson without realizing that the toy was inside.
To make matters worse, the toy also had a product number "9-0-1-1."
The company that distributes the candy bags, Lisy, was offended by the toy and has decided to recall 17-thousand of the bags.
Lisy says it bought the toys sight unseen from L & M Import/Export from Miami. Which, surprisingly, said it had no problem with the toy.

A lot of companies buy toys sight unseen to stick in with their products. This one just sorta slipped by.
