Go ahead and jump.

I guess if you are worried about your blog jumping the shark, you should probably just quit.
I have such a wide range of topics that I talk about because it's stuff that I really talk about.
I couldn't ever just be a political blogger or a weather blogger or something like that. I just blog whatever the hell I'm thinking about.
If readership goes up, yay. If readership goes down, it's cool.
Blogs go through phases of being really interesting and not so interesting and to some of you, the hurricane is so yesterdays news, but to us who live very close, it's all any of us are talking about.
I'm still posting all my other stuff, my kids, school stuff, medical stuff, my life but this is what is the hot topic right now around here.
So in closing, I guess I don't care if my blog jumps the shark.
I'm just living my life and blogging about it.
Happy to have you here if you're following along and if you leave for greener blogs, enjoy the journey.

blog on, Kat. Tell us about it, we need to hear it. Yr awesome btw, keep it up. Those of us in the blogosphere appreciate it.

Changing a blog's focus can cause a jump. A popular sports blog can decide to become political, or a political blog decides to join the ranks of a personal journal. Any such migration of blogging genres can result in a sleigh ride to the bottom of the blogging hill.

Perhaps this is what happened to mine....I never had a huge readership to begin with, but with my trying to make it more 'blog'-like instead of mostly personal, I may have managed to bore people or run them off.

I dunno. I still get plenty of comments from the only people who were actively commenting at my former site, so it's not that big a deal, I just noticed through sitemeter that the hits per day aren't as high as they used to be.

My blog is still so all-over-the-place, though. Ah well.

Well, if the person or people who wrote that could use decent grammar, I might be interested. As it is, I think they jumped the shark themselves.

At least I now know what the expression means!

Well no matter what the topic I always enjoy coming here for a good read! Always different and interesting keeps me coming back! Keep on bloggin' with your bad self! ;)

This blog, with its unlimited range of topics, is in no danger of seeing a shark in the water anytime soon. Keep showing your passion for writing, and the topics you write about, and you are unlikely to ever jump the shark.

Well thanks.

LOL@Kelly. :)

It's not just stuff I worry about Terry. I mainly blog for myself and if people are here and reading, then I plug some causes like the hurricane.

Yours is one of the unknown blogs I think. Not unknown as in people don't know about it, but under rated as in people haven't had time to think about it in this political climate. People are too busy arguing over who is right rather than the lives of their fellow men.

Thanks Josh.

Lol, the stuff people worry about :-)

There's so many extremely important things going on, including the Fla disaster, but, OH! *readership going down* must be the worst of all ;-)

I only read people who write for themselves, instead of just trying to be the most popuar kid in class :-)

And do you have the adress of Kim's blog? I think she deserves a new reader! :-D

Kim who? Send me the link. :)

You are not in danger of jumping the shark in my opinion. Your blog is great!
Mine however probably jumped long ago. lmao I can't help it though, most days I have really bad pain and can't post.
I'm trying though to get back into it!
That was a very interesting article/post.

Lol, I meant the commenter above me called Kim, who wrote:

"I never had a huge readership to begin with, but with my trying to make it more 'blog'-like instead of mostly personal, I may have managed to bore people or run them off."

I felt sorry for her after reading that! :-D So I thought I'd drop by on her, but I don't see a link to her site in her name :-)

But Julie, Kim is an awesome blog but people just don't know about it. That's the thing, so many great blogs and no one knows wehre to find them. Call me little Bo peep...lol

People understand pain Tam and will come back to check on you. It's the ones who lost it all together who have jumped.
