I have been doing the hotel search all morning so far.
Sis called. We are outta here Sunday night if that thing doesn't make a drastic turn to some other place.
We have just decided to not take any chances with this one as it's tearing things up in Jamaica and trashed Grenada letting all the prisoners run free. (it knocked down the prison)
It's headed to Cuba and then to Fla.
Why chance this one my fellow Tampa Bayer's?
Find somewhere to go, make your plan.
I'm usually the first one telling people to chill out and relax and I'm not panicking but I just know that we got off really easy the last couple of times, we are so due.
I'm making plans on the house prep too.
Not gonna tape the windows because that really doesn't help.
Will be unplugging all the electronics on Sunday morning and bagging them up in plastic and stashing them in a secure room off the floor.
The cats are going to be locked up in my room which is spacious with food and water. We can't take them with us. :(
My sis can't take hers either. It's a hell of a time trying to find pet friendly hotels that don't cost a fortune.
Anyway, that's all from here for now.
Just making plans and being prepared.

you know, i have to admit. I have been laughing along with you when you have been posting about the weathermen and stuff, but this one really has me worried.
Stay safe! will definately be thinking you, robyn and everyone else down there.
on a side note. Kat, you have done a great job of keeping others informed of the events down there, it has been nice to check in with you and see that my relatives that I don't have the constant contact with and at the same time know they are(may be) okay. A big thank you your way. (hugs)

I wasn't worried until my sister called. I was just going about my daily routine of blog surfing and emails and then, wham, find us a place to go ASAP.
Our weathermen are now scared. terrified is the word I would use. I have never heard or seen my local guys pale during the forecasts. I have never heard them utter the words catastrophic loss of life expected for our area.
If you have relatives that you can email, I would do so and just make sure they have a plan. This thing could turn and go away but it is better to have a plan should they need to go in a hurry.
Glad I could help you and maybe some others during the storms.
