My Single Mom Life: Morning Frances, you sissy.

« Getting better. | Main | I'm over at my sisters house »

Morning Frances, you sissy.

I know it's still a big one for the east coast, I was being sarcastic.
All the fear and terror and all the warnings they throw at us and the panic, good gawd the panic over gas and food, and it's moving at a crawl and gone from a big bad cat 4 to a slow moving cat 2.
The east coast is getting a big bad storm and I feel very bad that they are gonna get hit.
But I hate the media.
There was such panic here yesterday that every single gas station was out of gas and tons of car accidents of people looking for gas and stores being emptied.
It was nuts.
I'm gonna get rain.

I agree Kat.. I had to get food and water yesterday just like i do every other week and people where in stores like freaking out cuz there werent alot left... The most that I will get is rain and we will have to deal with flooding cuz the pond behind us is alredy crested...

I don't think that we need the 24 hour news coverage of the storm now... come morning thats one thing.. but to do it all day today and tomorrow... no wonder the people here freak...

Exactly. I hate how much they hype these things and freak people out.Take it easy and hope your yard doesn't flood.

As if it's not bad enough that they've done it about this one, Frances hasn't even made landfall yet and they're already starting to pump up Ivan right behind it.

I blogged yesterday that I think it's all a big conspiracy between the National Hurricane Center and Zephyrhills, Franco-American and the Campbell's soup people -- and I think I just may be onto something!

For all their "trying to be as careful as possible with our wording to get this one right" after the prediction messes they made with Charley -- this has almost been worse (but in reverse on the strengthening thank goodness). The largest evac in FL's history. 2-3 million people displaced. And it's a weakening category 2 at the moment. Ugh.

At least they give us "theme music" for every storm. Where would we be without that?

LOL! Appropriate title! With the tv being hogged for video games all night last night I didn't get to see what it was at now.
You're right...the media sux when it comes to getting people unnecessarily freaked out!

Well we are getting some very heavy wind and rain here right now and it just hit the coast of fla. This kinda sucks cuz Heidi is still at work.

You know we've STILL yet to get anything up here other than about 5 minutes of sprinkles! Even the tips of our trees aren't moving in the slightest... Stay safe / dry tonight!

Oh thank goodness there are a few SANE people left in this state!!! I live in Altamonte Springs, FL (Seminole County) and I am ready to SCREAM over here!! I am disgusted with the media for turning this entire state into complete chaos and I am also sickened by the selfishness of people who run out and hoard gas, water, ice, food, etc., etc.! It just amazes me! Whatever happened to loving thy neighbor and all that jazz???!! I'm just ready for this category 2 peice of crap to move on through so we can see what kind of themes and catch phrases they'll come up with for Ivan. Perhaps there will be jingles with singing palm trees next. Gheesh!! Be safe everyone!

Makes you wish a few news stations get destroyed in the storms. ;)
