My Single Mom Life: Archives My Single Mom Life: We headed down to the beach to see the waves.

« Is there an oral surgeon in the house? | Main | I didn't realize that I actually caught Ivan in the view. »

We headed down to the beach to see the waves.

The waves at Sarasota beach (Siesta Key) on the eve of Ivan making shore near Alabama.
Those two people in the waves in the middle of the picture are my boys. My sis Jo is to the right and her friend Vicki splashing in the water. ex-roommate is on the beach behind me.
----------------------------

There were a lot of people there tonight watching the waves.
Some trying to surf, some taking pictures and most people talking about Ivan damaging things wherever it decides to make landfall.
For all the beauty we were seeing, there was an underlying and overwhelming sadness and nervousness for the people whose lives it was about to touch.

Iam still glad your safe and sorta well!

I'm glad I'm safe too. :)

Those are pretty good waves for the Gulf! Thanks for the pic, I was wondering how it'd look.

A beautiful pic, indeed!

I think I am pretty safe, as long as tornadoes don't rip through here and there's no flooding...which they are expecting. But we'll deal. We're hoping for the best.

The coastal communities, and further south of us, though, are really going to get hammered. The footage on The Weather Channel is starting to look quite scary.

I bet it is. I am so worried about everyone in it's path. :(

I took quite a few more too and will post some of the ominous sky to the NW area. It was beautiful but scary.
We never get waves like this in the gulf.
