Woo, half the day gone and here I am just posting.
Been having scanner troubles.
The small yellow lines are now huge yellow lines covering more than half my flatbed.
Damn.
If anyone either knows how to fix that problem in easy tech terms, let me know please and if anyone has scanner recommendations I would appreciate it.
I think I just need a new one.
There are a lot of used ones on Amazon for under $30 so I can just get one of those, my parents film and a gift for Sebastians birthday.
Maybe.
I need the frigging scanner dammit.
So anyway, been doing dishes off and on. My back has been screwy the last couple of days so they just piled up and now I have 2 sink sides to contend with, made a ring/toe ring that is pretty cool. Check it out. ![]()
Click for bigger. It fits toes pretty well. It's adjustable so it tightens or loosens depending on your toe size and all those baubles are fun to wear. I've been wearing that actual one for a few days now since I made it. It's cute and floppy...lol
Ok, need to get something to eat. I spent like practically the whole morning working on the scanner and IMming with a friend.
Later days.

If it is a HP all you need to do is press down on the lid HARD... now trying to do jewelry may not work ... but when my scanner started do the funky line stuff when scanning pics, the kiddo said press hard on the lid, Mom...
it worked so now I pile a a couple of heavy books and a ream of card stock on the lid and no more lines.
Apparently she figured this out in 5th grade when her teacher's scanner went wonky.
Weird huh?

Yeah they're very cute. I bought just 5 of the little rings to try it out and not bad, I like them. :)

Yeah I did a search and it seems my brand of scanner does this after a few years. I need a new one. That really sucks cuz I have too many things to take care of this month and not enough credits. Bah.

Is your scanner any chance a UMAX Astra 1220P? That's what I have, it is quite old, and it sometimes does the same thing.
Is there a lamp or any other bright light shining at the scanner? I tried pointing the light away from the scanner, and this helped reduce those lines. I still get the little yellow ines on the sides, but it's better than it was. Perhaps the light peeking in on the sides has something to do with it...I don't know.
But I think I need a new scanner, too. I need to look and see what's out there.

That's exactly what I have!! There is no light leaking in at all. I tried pressing down hard on the lid and nothing is helpig. *sigh* looks like new scanners are needed for both of us eh?

oh that's a really cute toe ring. i LOVE showing off my toe rings in summer when i'm wearing my sandals. but i only have some simple toe rings now as i once had a bad experience with a toe ring like yours -- my toe was badly cut by the dingly thingy. sigh.
but anyway, you have reminded me to start shopping for new toe rings for the summer which is around the corner (if i have cash, so to say) :-P
keep the good work coming!!
