Overstock.com rip offs.
Pardon me while I bitch up a storm.
I really screwed up the pants so I went on a mission to find them and find them I did at Overstock.com
I was elated, overjoyed, ecstatic and oh look! They offer NEXT DAY AIR.
I was thrilled to pieces until I saw the following:
Ship Options: (Items will arrive via Fed Ex or UPS)
OPTION: COST: DELIVERY:
Ground Flat Rate 5-10 Business Days
3 Day $15.85 3-5 Business Days
2 Day $17.80 2-4 Business Days
Next Day $34.75 1-3 Business Days
Notice how next day air is $34.75 and takes 1-3 business days?
I called the 800 number before I hit submit on the order form. I asked them if I did it right this second, would I get them next day air as I am paying for.
No ma'am.
When would I get them?
Monday.
Monday?
Yes ma'am.
But it says next day air and you are charging almost $40 to get them next day air so how can you do that? How can you say next day when it's actually slower than the US postal services priority mail which takes 2 days and only costs $3.85?
Ma'am, that's just the way it works.
I hung up.
I did find the pants locally. Well sort of. In Ellenton at the outlet mall. I am headed there at noon thanks to a friends offer of a ride.
It's a pants emergency dammit.
But what the fricking hell?
They charge that much and it's that slow of a delivery?
I'm glad I called. I would have had false hope and then probably had to shoot myself at 3pm tomorrow an hour before the wedding.
You suck overstock.com. You really suck and you rip people off.

Ugh...that IS deceptive! They should call it what it is -- 1-3 Business Days From Today Shipping.
Even if they really did ship it to arrive the next day, it should NOT cost this much...not for one pair of pants. I used Next Day Shipping from Amazon, for stuff that weighs more than a pair of pants, only paid about $15 or so, and actually did get it the nect day.
I certainly will never shop at Overstock.com if this is how they treat people.

It's not a postal biz, that is a stores way of shipping. They claim they use Fedex but uh, not at that slow they aren't. fedex rocks. Never that slow.

I hate false advertising....and that is exactly what that is, if they say 'next day' and it's not there THE NEXT DAY.
I won't even use the priority mail for that reason....stuff never seems to get anywhere any quicker than standard mail.
Glad you guys have pants now , though!

I use priority mail all the time. I love it. When my post office has told me it will be there in 2 days, it has always gotten there in 2 days.
Example; I priorited a package on Saturday. They told me it would arrive on Monday. My customer emailed me and said it arrived on Monday and thanked me for such fast shipping.
I've never had it go wrong with the US post service when mailing. getting my mail is another story at xmas entirely...lol
Overstock is deceptive and no one should ever shop there because they are deceptive. I just wanted people to know the truth about their shipping. fed ex air service my ass. I wonder if fed ex knows they are lying about it.

I actually e-mailed FedEx's customer service department and mentioned Overstock's policy and shipping costs to them. I received a (non-automated!) reply almost instantly stating they were not aware of the upcharges and would conduct an investigation. The guy didn't say if Overstock was even a client, but I figured they're NOT. They're using DHL or even UPS (expedited) or something. FedEx Next Day Air actually arrives *the next day.* I know, clients send me graphics all the time and most of them prefer that method. (Pricey, I'd say, but whatever works for you.)
