Thirteen Things about Kat

1. My iron is getting extremely low.
2. I do take an iron supplement but I guess it's not enough.
3. I have to eat more iron rich foods ASAP or I can't fulfill my blood donations.
4. It's at 35.
5. At 33, you can't do any more.
6. They gave me a list of foods to help.

8. It has them a bit concerned.
9. This means I need to eat more.
10. I was trying to lose weight dammit.
11. They also said I need to sleep better.
12. Duh.
13. I did have a really nice ride up though with a very pleasant older man cab driver who stayed the whole hour and waited for me at no charge due to the distance.

how nice of him to wait for you at no charge! here's to hoping your iron goes up! i would give you some of mine (cuz mine has always been a bit higher than normal), but i don't think there's a way to do that...

What a nice cab driver, to wait for you like that!

I read someplace that if you cook food in cast iron, a little bit of the iron leeches out into the food. But I'm not sure if it's enough to make that much of a difference.

I bet you're getting low. I hope they don't have to take more from you until it gets built up again. *HUGS*

Keeping iron up is hard, but I think for now it's more important than loosing weight. From what I understand, surgery helps you to loose weight anyway...so eat some iron. Ya know, there is a Woman's Iron tea that you can drink too... might be helpful. Look for it in the Medicinal Teas section.

I was waitin for ya to put yours up...I had never put the link in my favorites...lol. Just take the vitamins as directed it helps. I only get iron at that time of month, is also a sign that your tired too when your iron is low. Later!!

Have you tried Floradix? That's what I take for low-iron. It works pretty well.

Just do like Popeye and guzzle spinach straight outta the can... But seriously, you can get iron from lots of stuff and it doesn't mean any weight gain.

I hope your iron goes up soon! Fatigue is a buger when it comes to trying to do things in your everyday life.

Beans, pasta, rice, potato-leek soup, and follow up eating iron with drinking OJ. That's what I do.

But...I hope you get the iron up soon.

Hey hon, I got your comment. I didn't realize your fusion surgery was so close. I am going to try to email you later tonight. There's some info I want to share with you regarding the surgery & what to expect after with the nurses/pain meds/etc.
I do hope that yours will be a success!! I see many more surgeries in my future. :( I think something is wrong with the hardware, and maybe it's just a dead fusion. (also have the disc above it that's bulging out)

I have to take Iron as well. I hate it.. The taste is horrible.. I hope you are able to get your iron up soon..

Can you take anything like SlowFe or some other iron pill? I know spinich and broccoli are good, but I have to take iron pills daily anyway, so I thought I'd ask :)

I hope you're able to get your iron back up. Roast beef has loads...if you're a roast beef fan. And tea depletes iron...

I'm anemic too. I take SlowFe and eat a lot of iron rich foods like broccoli, spinach, beans etc. But I drink tea all day! Tea depletes the body of iron. It's a vicious circle.
