Door to door magazine sales.
I just got my first one of the season. I'm sure there'll be more.
They comes in waves like that.
The deal is they start off sweet talking you then roll into the pitch.
Trying to raise money for college, enter contests etc.
The scam is that you never get the magazines you ordered.
Pricey ones at that too.
They go door to door and hit parking lots as well.
The young guy admitted he has done it in walmarts parking lot.
He tried to bless me and then I cut him off mid-pitch.
No thanks, it's a scam. Have a nice day.
He left pissed off.

I DESPISE door-to-door salespeople, and refuse to buy anything from anyone who invades my home in this way. They are worse than telemarketers!
I won't even go answer the door unless I'm expecting a delivery or something. I recently put a "NO SOLICITING" sign on my door, and so far, it's kept people away.

you know what makes it worse? Is that some of them are just kids. They give out that sob story for whatever they are trying to do and like you say you never get the magazine, it makes me wonder do the kids get what they are trying to earn as well?
