My Single Mom Life: Almost time to wake up the teens.

« M-I-C, see ya real soon! | Main | I'm going to try it out. »

Almost time to wake up the teens.

I need them to help me clean the house today.
A fellow blogger is going to stop by between 2-3ish to drop me off some girl scout cookies.
I only ordered one box from her, and two from Kate, because anymore than that in this house is detrimental to my health waistline.

My house isn't trashed by any means, but the floors need to be tackled and the dishes need to be done, stuff like that.
I have a ton of dishes to do though. I have been ignoring them for the past two days because I just didn't feel like it.
I could lie and say I was busy, but I wasn't. I just really hate doing dishes everyday.
I'd love a dishwasher but my kitchen is too small for one.
*sigh*

Is it too small even for one of those portable ones? I knew a girl that got a portable one and when it wasn't hooked up, she just rolled the hoses up and used the appliance itself as a butcher block island. Her kitchen was pretty tiny....but I know it all depends on how it's laid out, too.

Check walmart.com and target.com. There is a tabletop model that does 4 place settings that sells for less than $200.
Consumer reports ranks one of those models with a 4 out of 5 satisfaction.
I used to have one at my last house in the game room/tv room/teenager rec room. There was a little wet bar in that room and the tabletop dishwasher was easier than carrying dirty glasses and plates downstairs to the kitchen. Worked fine for "snack dishes", never tried to wash cooking utensils, etc. Anyway, the thing is about the size of one of those older countertop microwaves.

That would actually be the perfect size for us. Thanks!

It was really great to finally meet you Kat, and Katie absolutely adored your cats. I am sorry I didn't get to meet your boys though. I hope you enjoy your cookies.
