He's what? Sick. Ugh.
The high school just called, Mark is sick and he will be on his way home if you say he can walk home.
Yes, send him home.
They said he had a temp of 100.9, was pale and clammy, lethargic, coughing, sneezing etc.
*sigh*
So he's on his way home.
I don't know why he didn't tell me was sick this morning, I was up.
He has been having to walk back and forth to school the last couple of days because sometime during school on Monday, someone slashed his bike tires.
I called the school and they said they can't have someone guarding the bike rack all day long.
Well excuse me, but this was a $200 bike that I now have to go have two tires replaced on so he can ride back and forth to school.
Last year, someone stole the seat off of his bike. So we ended up getting him a new bike for Christmas and now they did this.
This is b.s. I'm sick of stupid thugs ruining other peoples property at the school.
If you can't have someone watching the bike rack all day, fence it in like the elementary school does, and then padlock the gate.
When students needs to leave, send someone out to the gate with the key and let them get their bike and go home.

It pisses me off to no end that some don't have any respect for anyone's property. They need to be slapped up the side of the head. Grrrr.
I hope Mark feels better and that you and Sebastian don't catch it.
Have a good day and I hope you get all of it done. *HUUUGS*

Hope Mark feels better! And yea...that's a good idea about the bike rack if they can't have someone watch it.

*Sigh* I have a sick one home from school as well.
That sucks that his tires were slashed. What is wrong with these kids today thinking they can just destroy property like that? This is why I'm scared when my son goes to junior high in the fall....

Love to catch the shit who slashed his tires.
The school, if it had ANY imagination or money, which I'm sure it doesn't, could put the bikes in a fenced-in, locked area, and hand out keys to proven bicycle owners and charge a REFUNDABLE (end of year) deposit.
But that would be asking for way too much $$ and initiative.

I definately love Terry's idea... They charge the kids $10 a year to rent a locker they can certainly do something to keep the bikes safer.

I was raised to respect other people's property. I'll never understand or respect people who don't.
I'm really sorry to hear that you're going to have to replace the tires on your son's bike. Needless repairs suck. :/

Hope he gets to feeling better soon! There's all kinds of crud going around here .. my son stayed home sick the other day and then got sent home the next day. Never ending job for us single momma's.
Grrr wish people would just grow up .. that really sucks about the bike incident
