My Single Mom Life: I think I was being not so nice.

I think I was being not so nice.

Today, sis picked the boys and I up to go have some lunch because she was on break from the class she's taking to better her job skills, about 5 blocks away from my house all week this week.
She picked us up and I needed to run to Amscot really fast.
Usually, this takes less than 5 minutes. Go in, deposit my check on my card, get receipt, leave.
They had a new person working there today, and when I walked in, he had just put his till in the drawer.
There were 3 employees total, only one occupied by a customer.
The guy smiled at me and asked if he could help me. I slid my check and card through the pass, and then he pulled out a stack of checks and started stamping them with the deposit info.
Hello?
Were you waiting on me? Didn't you just ask if you could help me?
I said excuse me, I'm in a bit of a hurry and you asked to wait on me, is there a problem?
He said "No, I have to stamp these deposits, I'll be with you in 1 minute."
I stood there and waited, looked out in the parking lot and my sis and the boys were giving me that what is taking so long look. I turned back to him and he smiled at me but kept going doing his stamping.
I asked him if someone else could please wait on me because I really needed to go.
He replied with the I'll be with you in 1 minute speal again.
I stood there another 5 minutes, about 10 minutes in total. There was no one else in there but me and 1 other customer. I looked at the other employee and she was counting money, and she smiled at me.
I finally just said screw you, and walked out.

I don't know what was up with that. Everyone there is usually always so nice and quick, very speedy customer service. Maybe he was new, I have no idea, I just found that whole thing very rude.
Like what would possess someone to ask if they can help you and then proceed to do something else entirely, and then ask you to wait while they did it?
I've worked customer service most of my life, lots of places where I had to deal with money and balancing drawers and deposit info, and if it was a task that could have waited until after the customer has left, then it waited until they left.
Stamping the checks for deposit is one of those tasks.

So anyway, sis said she'll come back tomorrow on her lunch break from class, and we'll try again.
I really need to get this check deposited, and also get a copy of my direct deposit info so my child support can start being deposited as soon as it's paid. I need it for some of my paypal stuff too. I need to lift the monthly withdrawal limit from my account and see about their debit card.

Wow, you call that not nice? lol If it had been me standing there waiting for the jerk to stamp his damn checks, I would've probably been hauled away by the cops! lol What an ass he was! I've worked in customer service most of my life, also, and that is just something you NEVER do! Idiot.

Okay, that's just weird and rude. I mean, I could sort of understand the whole thing if he had just been in the middle of doing something - but he asked if he could help you! You do not stamp deposits after that, no way.
