The school cop is going to look into it.
He did not want or need my sons name, just the details of what was said.
He's going to talk to the kid who was bragging about it, and just tell him he heard a rumor and needed to investigate it.
He said it's not the first time he has heard this kind of story about this kid, but no evidence was ever produced. If a video tape exists, they can go after him for animal cruelty.
He said, and I agreed, that studies have shown kids who harm animals tend to grow up to have social issues and usually it develops into hurting people later on down the line.
I feel better even though it took all day for the cop to call me back.
___________
And on another school related note, I hope they kids get home ok today. We have been getting weather warnings for the last 15 minutes that a severe thunderstorm is headed this way with quarter sized hail.
Yikes!

Ugh! Animal abusers make me sick! And you're right, it's a sign of serious problems. Most serial killers, such as Jeffrey Dahmer, started out as animal abusers when they were kids.
Yet so many people brush this off, saying, *it was just an animal*, and *boys will be boys*.
This kid needs some serious help, and I hope he gets it.
Good for you for reporting this to the cops!

I really hope the school cop can get to the bottom of it so those boys will be punished like they deserve! That poor, poor cat. I will never understand how anyone can get pleasure from watching another living creature suffer. It's more than sick!

Knowing the school as much as I do I do not think much will come out of that investigation. But here's hoping. Nice weather we're having isn't it? Have you check out the forcast for the rest? It's going to get mighty chilly...
