There's no school tomorrow because of Presidents day.
I think that students should not be allowed to have presidents day off until the schools actually teach them who the presidents are.
Whatdya think?

I have to agree with that. I swear, the only kids who aren't complete morons these days are the ones who have good parents who teach them stuff. The schools nowadays suck ass.
I was a weird kid. I was very interested in the presidents. In 4th grade, I won a spelling bee, and got to pick out a book for my prize. I picked a book about U.S. Presidents. The other kids thought I was crazy, but I wanted that book. I think LBJ was still President back then.
It's sad that schools are not even teaching about Washington and Lincoln these days. Do they even teach about Martin Luther King? If not, they shouldn't have THAT day off, either!

what kills me is my daycare is closed for Presidents Day. Wha? It's not real school. It's a business. I still pay for Monday. What need do they have to be closed?

Not only that, but they should let parents stay home if they have kids who have the day off. Im sure for those whos parents both work these holidays are a huge burden on them.

My youngest child is in 4th grade and actually learned all the presidents this year IN ORDER. He must have had 20 worksheets sent home with games to learn them. Funny? We're in TX and our kids have school today. They did get MLK day off, but no presidents day. Our next holiday is Good Friday and the following Monday, but it's call "spring holidays".

I think its funny that some counties are having no school and some are... why can't all counties be the same...

Ha! Excellent idea!
While you're asking the powers that be, can you ask if we can have a Prime Ministers Day here?

They are teaching them all that and more. The kids that learn from their parents (like mine) would most likely still learn them in school as well. The problem with the kids that don't or don't want to learn is that their parents are too damned lazy to pick up the ball and take responsibility and make their children do as they should. They take the position that it is the school's responsibility to make them learn and they should have no part in it. Children start learning long before they are in school and if they don't know how to count or know their ABC's by the time they leave for PRE-K, then the parents need to look at the learning environment that they have provided their children.
