Now they wanna do direct deposit.
I've been complaining about my child support checks, namely one getting stolen which still hasn't turned up, and they never did send the stop payment form.
But anyway, in today's mail, I received a letter from the state of Florida department of revenue, in which they blew their own horn over the fabulous new idea of direct deposit and their very own Florida Debit Card Program, just for child support checks.
I've only been asking them to direct deposit my CS for the last 10 months. *eyeroll*
But anyway, if we have a checking account, we can have it direct deposited even if we are handled by two states which before, they said absolutely not on, or, we can get their brand spanking new debit card with a picture of a beach on it, the word Florida in giant letters, and is a Mastercard debit card. Solely for child support.
Now, this is all fine and dandy, but they won't accept my Amscot card as a checking account even if I send them a direct deposit form. It has to be a voided check which is asinine in my opinion.
I don't understand why they won't take a direct deposit form.
So, where does this leave me?
It leaves me having to accept this new card or keep getting paper checks which might get stolen. Again.
I don't want another card. I want direct deposit.
I know, beggars can't be choosers, but come on, how hard would it be to do the form instead of a check?
Not hard!
But at least the state has finally come into the 21st century.

Comments
You know it would just be too damned easy to make things convenient for you AND them. Can you transfer the CS card balance to your Amscot card/paypal account, etc?

haha.. you should see mine. Ohio has a Cardinal on theirs. I can use mine as a Debit or Credit. There should be absolutely no fees on this card except if you take money directly out of an ATM and usually you are charged that banks fee.

Yeah they said there are no fees, but with the measely $22.10 I get, I might just let it stay on the card and build up until school starts in the fall again. School shopping money.
