Something I didn't have.
When I went in for my spine fusion surgery, I had to sign and get notarized, my DNR, my will, and my child custody papers, should anything have happened to me.
I was well prepared in that aspect, I had taken care of who would get the teens, my wishes to not be resuscitated, but not death insurance.
It's not something I could afford, but it was on my mind. Who would pay for my funeral and cremation, if I did actually die during surgery?
Luckily, that didn't happen, but it was still on my mind quite a bit.
I have gotten death insurance since then, that experience made it a priority.
