This rocks so much!
The new video card and 1 gig of memory, made an incredible difference in game play of the Sims, and allowed us to install the other expansion pack that Sebastian bought, Pets.
When I got the new pc for Christmas, we bought Sims 2 and the Nightlife expansion pack.
They played ok, it was grainy and chunky pixels, but playable.
Sebastian and I are addicted to the Sims, and he's gotten so much better at from when he first started.
But anyway, we had tried to install the Pets pack, and it crashed the game. It was just using so much memory, the computer couldn't handle it, even though it was brand new. It really did need a new video card and more memory.
Sebastian was so bummed about not being able to have the pets too. He used his gift cards from Christmas to buy it himself, and has been asking me every month when I'd be able to get more memory or a new video card, whatever it needed to make it work.
Pets has been sitting in it's box since Christmas.
Tonight after getting all the settings fixed for ultimate game play, I tried once more to install Pets and play it.
It worked.
It worked awesome.
Sebastian's eyes lit up and I swear I thought he was going to cry...LOL
I messed with all the graphics settings again to make sure every thing was good to go, and then let him play from about my last post around 6:30, until about an hour ago.
He had so much fun, and when I asked him to hop off so I could get back on here and catch up on emails and stuff, he saved his game, and hopped up out of the chair, and gave me a huge hug.
He just simply had a great time playing and told me all about his family and their new pets, his kids he's raised so well, what generation he's working on, how many days till his original Sims become elders.
He's good at this stuff, and it keeps him happy and out of trouble.
Plus, my computer now runs incredibly fast. It boots in like 2 seconds, has no virtual memory issues at all even after all those hours playing.
It's awesome.
So Michael, thank you for finding me such a great deal on the parts.
You made my pc work awesome, and you made Sebastian a very happy kid.
