Milk. M-i-l-k.
I am a bad mommy.
I have a milk phobia. I don't even know why I have a milk phobia, but I do.
I cannot drink or use any milk that I know has been opened and safely in the fridge, for 3 days. 2 days or less, no problem.
3?
One of the kids has to test it for me.
Like just now, I am making hamburger helper for the boys for dinner, the box called for 1 cup of milk.
It's practically a brand new gallon, expires on the 12th, but I simply could not pour that cup of milk into the pan, until I got one of the boys to taste it and make sure it was still good.
Sebastian laughs at me every time I make one of them test it.
Sebastian: "Mom, it's fine. You just bought it. Look at the date, it's gooood mom."
Me: "Ok, it's good, now taste it."
Sebastian: "You are sooo weird mom, *tastes milk* It's good. Told ya."
Me: "Ok, thanks." *pours cup of milk in pan and stirs*
Is it totally whacked that I make my kids do this every single time?
Is this a bad mommy move? *laughs*

That is so funny. While I do not have the milk phobia, one of my boys does! Each and every time he goes to drink a glass or pour it he has to check the date and smell and ...
well, you know..lol

Heh, I do the same thing... sorta. I don't drink milk and every time I need to use it I always think it COULD be bad. LoL. I make my roommates smell it to see if it's good. They always give me a weird look but they do it anyway.

I think you must have been given sour milk sometime in during your early years and you just don't remember it. Or maybe you saw someone else take a big drink of sour milk and ralph it all up. Oh sorry. Kinda' graphic there. But anyway, it's not a bad mommy thing. No worries. ;)

I don't think you are weird at all. But then again, I don't buy cow's milk. We only drink soymilk in my house.

I'm skeevy about drinking milk too. I quit drinking it 3 days before the expiration date but I'll let everyone else drink it til 2 days after the date, if they dare.
