Mothers Day 2007
I opened my card this morning, the one I was told not to open until today, and both boys had signed it, but Mark wrote me a message.
Dear Mom,
You've always loved me and helped me, and I know for these past two years I've been harder for you.
I hope you know I'm really sorry and how much I love you for always trying to help me even when I say I hate you.
I love you mom,
Mark
*sniffle*
Seriously, is that not the most honest, heartfelt thing for a kid to say?
When he wakes up, I'm going to cover him in slobbery kisses and big mushy hugs.
Happy mothers day to all moms every where.

My 16 year old daughter gave me a necklace that says "mother" on the silver pendant, with a sparkly star next to it. What brought tears to my eyes was the fact that she is now sporting the matching "daughter" one now - she bought both. A teenager who WANTS to share matching necklaces with mom! I am touched and blown away beyond words. These past few years have been difficult since I became an official single mom (been a de facto one since day one but that's another story) -- I guess I am doing okay. What a Mother's Day!
