You know your life is a soap opera if....

--Everybody has secrets. Everybody else knows them.
--Be kind to strangers. They are likely to be your family.
--No former spouse ever really dies.
--Never talk to yourself -- some scheming bitch will overhear and use it against you.
--If you marry for money again and again, it won’t buy you happiness -- but you will have a great wardrobe.
--Don’t reject a man because he’s evil -- he could develop into a (smoldering, enigmatic, and/or brooding) romantic hero.
--You’d be robbing yourself of the full courtroom experience if you were not threatened with contempt at least once.
--Okay, the church burned down, the cake exploded, and your father was arrested for embezzlement while walking you down the aisle . . . Stop crying like this is the only wedding you’re ever going to have.

I received You Know Your Life Is a Soap Opera If..., to check out and write a review of.
Thank you so much for the laughs!
This book is hysterical, it had me cracking up all the way through.
Being a long time soap fan since I was a little girl watching Days of our lives with my Aunt Kathy, All My Children with my mom, and The Young and the Restless with my grandmother, this book captures every true, crazy plot line that has ever happened on any soap.

"A coma is no excuse for bad hair and makeup", isn't that so true in soaps? You never see a female character in the hospital after an accident, in a coma, or after giving birth, looking like crap. Her hair is always perfect, makeup flawless, and diamonds dripping from her ears.
I'd say this book is perfect for soap fans, it will keep them laughing and recalling all the moments from their fave shows, and nodding their heads at the craziness of it all.

Comments

I havn't watched a soap in so long... I can say that I have watched Dark Shadows as a kid and it scared the piss out of me... then there was Luke and Laura - General Hospital? Dr. Noah Drake, and Roman and Marlena and the Buchannan's.... it's all coming back to me.... like a drug addiction.

Man, the days of Luke and Laura were just awesome. The Cassadine family, the adventures.
I used to watch Dark Shadows too. Loved it!
