$31.60 later.
Yup, $31.60 to get a 3 page letter notarized, and 2 packages mailed priority mail.
In priority mail envelopes.
Gah.
But pak mail actually delivers the mail, so I had to do it that way.
When I held my contest, I mailed out the winners prizes directly from the post office. I had delivery confirmation on both of them.
I checked about a week and a half later, they said they were delivered, so I assumed the winners had them.
A few days ago, Sanjay, the gal who won the dvd, emailed me to let me know she never got it.
Ugh.
This is not the first time I have mailed stuff out only to have the recipient email me later on to tell me they didn't get it. Even with dc, somehow my packages do not reach their destination when I use the post office.
I just naturally assumed that Jules did not get hers either, so I went out and bought another copy of the dvd and the book, and just priority mailed them from pak mail this morning before my grocery shopping.
Yes, it cost me twice as much now, but I'm sure the packages will actually make it this time.
Because of this very long delay, I included with their prizes, a pair of my handmade earrings each.
They both received a pair of these but different colors. One amber set, one blue.
I cannot say sorry enough. I feel terrible that they didn't get their prizes, so I threw those in as my apology.
Please email me when you get them, if you get them.
I always make it right if it's possible to do so.
_____________
I did really good shopping today.
They had an awesome buy 1 get 1 going on, on the products I usually buy, so all totaled, only $157.89.
Not too bad.
Then Sebastian and I came back, put it all away, and now we're just chilling.
I did get some fresh corn on the cob too. It smelled so sweet, I couldn't resist even though corn on the cob always gets stuck in my teeth.
So for tonight's dinner, I'm thinking of making some small steaks, the corn, and some Hawaiian rolls.
Yummy.
Later days.

Can I have dinner at your house? Steak is better than leftover kielbasa any day.

Oh wow, that was nice of you. I have a bad mailing company too. I guess because I live on the base they look through packages that come to me. I recently won a book, the package was ripped opened and taped back up.

OH! You have an *Evil Post Office*, too!
Something I learned a long time ago is that all post offices are different, depending on the postmaster/mistress who runs them. In the case of our Evil Post Office. the postmaster there is a really nasty-assed bastard. He was very rude to me when he found out that I wrote my Congressman to force them to deliver mail to my husband at our house. It was all being *returned to sender*, and no one would tell us why. Yet I still sometimes get mail for my ex-husband here!
The asshole actually had the balls to call me and yell at me for getting HIM into trouble! But everyone who works at the EPO is nasty and cranky...I guess I would be, too, if I had to work for this guy!
That's why we now have a P.O. Box at the Good Post Office, in another town. The postmistress there is a very nice lady, and the people who work for her are nice, too. We can both get mail there, and nothing I have ever sent from there has been lost.
Since you don't have a car and can't drive, going to another post office might not be an option. That's the way it is in my town too...we have a lot of people with no cars who have to use that post office, or pay out the wazoo for some *private postal* service. And it sucks. Big fat hairy smelly donkey 'nads. Pisses me off to no end!

Now that makes me want to go become a notary just so you won't get ripped off again!

We have 2 post offices here in this tiny rural city, and they both work really well. I can't believe you had to go out and buy the book and DVD AGAIN.
Sue them! Sue, I say!

Nope, in Florida.
The Pak Mails are individually owned and operated, they can set their prices as they please I guess.
Or the guy just loves to over charge people.
One priority mail envelope package, normal price at the post office , no matter how much it weighs, is $3.95.
Pak Mail weighed the envelope and said it was $16.40.
The other envelope, he said $7 something.
The rest of that $31.60 was notary charges and tax.
