Stupid freaking notary crap.
I just spent about an hour filling out paper work and writing a letter stating my plea, and I was getting ready to stuff it in the envelope when I noticed, this must be notarized before sending.
Ugh.
Sis is not in the area this week, so getting it notarized for free at the CU is out. I'm going to have to go to pak mail where they charge upwards of $20 to get something notarized.
I hate them.
They once charged me $8 to fax a single page within the state, and they also charged me $16 to mail a package, standard mail, in state. It weighed less than 6 ounces.
Grrr.

Do you have a UPS Store nearby? I had to get something notarized and they charged $5.

I am a notary. If I lived near you, I'd do it for free. In my state, they can only charge a certain amount for each signature being notarized. Try another bank or credit union before going to a UPS store or other business.

Are you in California? I don't know of any state that allows $20 for a notary charge. Unless there were two people signing...that's crazy!

Nope, in Florida.
The Pak Mails are individually owned and operated, they can set their prices as they please I guess.
Or the guy just loves to over charge people.
One priority mail envelope package, normal price at the post office , no matter how much it weighs, is $3.95.
Pak Mail weighed the envelope and said it was $16.40.
The other envelope, he said $7 something.
The rest of that $31.60 was notary charges and tax.
