24 hours for a good cause.

blogathonsm.gif

I will be participating in the 2007 Blogathon this year which begins on July 28th at 6:am pacific, 9am my time.
My charity of choice is the Montel Williams MS Foundation.

The Foundation contributes 100% of funds from individuals to research. Administrative funding is personally underwritten by Montel Williams and by corporate donors.

MS is disease that is close to home for me.
My sister in law Jen has MS.
This is Jen.

She is confined to an electric scooter these days, no longer able to work, slowly getting worse.
She has two kids, my niece Helena, and my nephew Mikey.
They are far too young to be watching their mother decline in the way that MS takes it's toll on the body.
You can learn about MS here.

I will be staying awake for 24 hours, blogging at least once every half hour to raise money for this cause.
Montel Williams has MS himself, and is a huge driving force in finding a cure.

This is the link to my donation page. (You will need to register in order to make donations to any of the charities)
There is no minimum amount to donate. You can make a one time lump donation, or you can sponsor me hourly if you'd like.
So sponsor me, spread the word, and stay awake with me for 24 hours to help raise money for finding a cure for MS.
You can start making donations now, or wait until it starts.

Every person who donates during the 24 hours will get a personal thank you on this blog, and if they are a blogger or have their own site, I'll be linking to them.
I may offer some prizes if we meet certain goals during the blogathon.
I would like to raise $2,000. That's my goal. I know it's a lot, but I'm determined to reach it, and with everyone's help I can.

Thank you.

That is an excellent cause, and I think Montel is great. I love it when people like him use their celebrity status to promote their causes.

I will certainly pledge during the 'thon, and I will promote this on my own blogs, as well.

I won't be participating as a blogger myself this year, as we have plans on the 29th. I did it once, and passed out cold once the 24 hours ended. So, not this year. I'll just be pledging money and helping spread the word!

Count on Chris and I both. Great Cause!

I am also blogging for MS - I have had 3 aunts with it. I am donating to the MS Chapter where one of my aunts lives (CT).

Let's remember to check on each other during the 'thon!
