Entry #15

Diane asked me some questions that I could answer on and off throughout the day and night, so here's one of the first ones.

What is the hardest part of being a single mom?

I think the hardest part of being a single mom is that I do this alone, day in, day out, 24/7.
There is no dad to play off of, I am the good cop and the bad cop. *laughs*
I have to make all the rules, I have to enforce them, I have to do pretty much everything around here.
I pay the bills alone.
I mean, everything is done, alone.

I'd say that really is the hardest part.

Ya, that was the number one on my list too..
I can never say "wait til your dad gets home" or "ask your dad".

The funny part is...
I like not having that factor around too. ;)

I hear ya'. I only did it for a couple of years, and it was by far the hardest thing I've ever done. I respect and admire women like you and my mom SO MUCH!

I remember those days quite well! Of course, that's all still the same even now that I'm married, except for the paying the bills alone part.

Agreed. But I can only half complain -- have only ONE teen. (That's plenty.)

Believing there's no God means I can't really be forgiven except by kindness and faulty memories. That's good; it makes me want to be more thoughtful. I have to try to treat people right the first time around.- Penn Jillette
