I don't miss being a manager.
I do miss working, but I don't miss being a manager. I used to be a manager for both Pier 1 and PetSmart, and I worked with payroll software at both places.
I also was an assistant manager a few places where I had to work with it as well.
Pier1's was great, PetSmart, not so much.
It was a nightmare having to figure it out, they often were wrong by at least 20 hours on each persons hours.
I would manually have to go through 2 weeks of payroll hours, and update them in the software before submitting it to corporate.
Plenty of times, employees were paid out of the cash drawer.
My own paycheck? Came out of the cash drawer every 2 weeks from the date of my hire in November, until I finally quit in late February due to a multitude of problems including thefts by employees and managers, doors being left unlocked by employees even after I would check them to make sure they were locked, they would go back and unlock them so that pallets of dog food could be stolen over night by someone who had the security codes.
There was also a manager and an employee, who gave their own versions of employee discounts to friends.
Being the CSM, it was my job to figure out why all 10 cash drawers grand totals, would be off by hundreds of dollars.
There were missing CC receipts, wrong copies given back to customers which meant we wouldn't be able to legally charge customers cards, and cashiers who just outright never even scanned items for friends and family members.
It was probably one of the worst jobs I ever had because the thefts were so blatant.

Damn! I wish I had been one of those friends or family members on the receiving end of that whole scam.
