It's a changing day in the neighborhood.
I took my walk a little earlier this evening, not as far as yesterday or even the day before, just a small one around 3 blocks.
I spent time thinking and looking around at all the various houses and landscaping, kids playing, dogs barking, couples sitting outside talking around their little fire tables, watching the wind whip through the palms.
Parts of my neighborhood are still really nice, and some parts are slowly degrading.
As people get pushed out of one area because of development, they gradually move into other sections and change it to what they're used to I guess.
I don't understand that.
If you move into a nice home in a nice part of town, wouldn't you be motivated to keep your home, your part of that new neighborhood looking nice?
I don't understand how or why, people can be so sloppy and disrespectful of their own homes.
Take the dealer on the right hand side of me.
He moved here less than 8 months ago, and his house and yard already looks like trash.
Cars always on cinder blocks being fixed, a huge bbq pit thing in the side yard, an actual couch underneath the carport where he and his buds sit and drink their 40's on the weekend, trash piled up, beer bottles strewn about.
And on both sides of him, people mow their lawns, keep their yards looking nice, trash is contained etc.
I don't understand why they wouldn't want to keep their home looking nice too.
