No masks at 7-11 for Halloween.
On my walk today, Sebastian and I swung into 7-11 for some Gatorades to drink while we finished our walk, and spotted this sign on the front doors.
So If you are taking your kids trick or treating and stop in at your local stores like 7-11, no one, even children, are allowed to wear any animal masks, ghost masks, Batman, or any other face covering type of mask, into their stores on Halloween night.
The clerk said that Halloween is the night of the year that they get many robbery attempts because people are wearing costumes and masks.
She said kids can still be brought in to do trick or treat, but no masks are allowed to be covering anyone's face when they enter, and as long as they remain in the store.

That's sad, but in a way the sign doesn't surprise me. Halloween does provide the perfect opportunity to walk down the street wearing a mask and arousing no suspicion. However, as someone who has worked the graveyard shift at two very different stores at two different points in time with completely different kinds of building and security layouts, and managers, and who was never robbed although several of her coworkers were, it all depends on the precautions one takes. So if you have a dumb and chancey cashier working, well that's asking for trouble. SO I suspect that no masks thing is a CYA for the stores since it's not a guaranteed thing that they will have cashiers working that night/day who make use of common sense.
