Pepper spray gel review.
I received a unit of pepper spray, one item in a growing list of self defense products, to try out.
I had been wanting to get some sort of self defense item because my hood is growing more and more dangerous, what with having some drug dealers just two doors down now, and because of my shoulder, I'm not allowed to go get my CWP yet. (concealed weapons permit)
So this is what I got, and then we tested it.
Sebastian agreed to be my tester, we just sprayed his foot with a very small amount, nothing even close to what you spray at someone attacking you.

I had a bottle of honey on hand ready to pour on it once he started to feel it.
Never use water if you get sprayed with pepper spray. Water actually increases the heat.
Use milk or honey, preferable honey if sprayed with the gel formula because it needs to be thick to dilute the gel.
Sebastian at first said he didn't feel anything, that quickly changed and he yelled for the honey. Within seconds of applying the honey, the burn was immediately gone.
He said it was so hot, he felt like that spot had boiling water mixed with jalepeno peppers mixed in, poured on his foot.
Here is some information if you live in Florida and looking to get something for self defense. This only applies to chemical sprays, not batons or knives or guns.
FLORIDA: Legal.
"Self-defense chemical sprays" are legal. They are defined as "a device carried solely for purposes of lawful self-defense that is compact in size, designed to be carried on or about the person, and contains not more than two ounces of chemical". Section 790.001. Although it may seem redundant, there is an express prohibition against using chemical sprays against a law enforcement officer. Section 790.054.
(2) A person may openly carry, for purposes of lawful self-defense:
(a) A self-defense chemical spray.
(b) A nonlethal stun gun or dart-firing stun gun or other nonlethal electric weapon or device that is designed solely for defensive purposes.
(3) Any person violating this section commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
If the item you have can be used in a lethal fashion, you will need to obtain your CWP, such as a knife, baton, or gun.

I could only imagine the face that Sebastian made when his foot started to burn. Kudos for him though he will try anything for his mom:)
