My Single Mom Life

So here I am at almost 4am still wide awake even after taking the Restoril.
I really think stress is a major factor in this non-sleeping thing.
I just have far too much going on here in real life, and sleeping has just become something I do quickly.
Gimme 15 minutes to nap, and I'm good to go for another 24 hours.

I've just been sitting here all night watching the tv in closed captioning so I don't wake up the teens who will be getting up in about an hour and 50 minutes.
Then I got bored with the crap on tv and watched episodes 11 and 12 of Weeds.
That is such an awesome show.
It's getting more and more complicated for Nancy, everyone wants a cut, wants money, and is trying to blackmail her.
She's trapped in this life now and is dealing with the consequences of how she supports her family.
You can see the stress of it all when she has these little moments of thought about the life she's living, how her kids are living, and if she's doing right by them.
Even though it's a fictional story, she has the same thoughts that mothers everywhere have, and single moms especially.
She's a single mom who took the only "career" path she could think of to support her family after her husband died.
Not the smartest choice in careers, but the money flows and bills get paid, but now she's got her kids wrapped up in this life too.
Her youngest son is a genius, so he installs security cameras around the home, monitors everything on the home computers. Her oldest son is learning how to grow it, has a gift for it actually, and could be successful if he stays in this line of work, she's told.
It's that thought right there that makes her question, even if only for a minute, if what she's doing is the right thing.
She's trapped and sinking further and further into this lifestyle and has those moments of mom guilt we all have.
Every week we see a bit more of who she is, and she questions if she's a good person.
We question it right along with her, but none of us know the answer.

Guitar Hero 3 should be delivered today.
I am so opening it when it gets here, and playing it first if it arrives before the boys get home.
I need to learn how to play this thing if I want to win our little family contest we're having on Thanksgiving day.
We decided that we would have a battle between us, the person with the most high scores accrued after 3 songs, will win $20.
Of course, I am supplying the $20, so it's in my best interest to win it so I don't have to pay either of them. hahaha
