Dan Fogelberg dies at age 56.
I don't know how many people knew of him or his music, but I grew up listening to his beautiful songs.
My dad just sent me some of his cds a few weeks ago, and I have played them over and over.
There is one song that no matter how many times I hear it, I cry.
I can't explain it, it just gets to me and the tears start falling.
Dan Fogelberg died today at age 56 from a 3 year long battle with prostate cancer.
He died at his home in Maine with his wife Jean by his side.
The news was posted to his website this morning, and there is letter that Dan wrote about prostate cancer posted there as well.
This is that one song that gets me every time.

a thought: the leader of the band has some company this night...
frankly, turns out dan's life was anything but a "poor attempt"... he had every reason to be proud...
good lord, condolences to his mom, whom i believe is still with us and in peoria still, and to his brothers and, naturally, to his wife jean...

That's very sad...I hadn't even known that he was sick. I remember that he was popular back in the late 70's/early 80's.
Thanks for posting the video...I like that song, as well as "Same Auld Lang Syne".
Definitely a terrible loss for the world of music.

He had so many great songs. My favorite has always been "Same Old Lang Syne". I could listen to it forever.
