Walmart confusion.
*I placed the order on 12/12/07, Wednesday, at 10:30am EST, paid for 1 day shipping, should have arrived on 12/14/07.
*On 12/14/07, it did not arrive.
*Carol the supervisor guaranteed me it would arrive on Monday 12/17/07.
*Carol the supervisor, refunds my $36 shipping charges.
*On 12/17/07, Monday, the computer did not arrive.
*On 12/17/07, Carol the supervisor guarantees me it will arrive by Christmas.
*On 12/18/07, Tuesday, they 'lost' my order, had to investigate. No clue on when I would actually get it.
*12/18/07, Walmart corporate guarantees me that someone from their corporate offices would call me in a few days. No one has called.
*On 12/19/07, Wednesday, at 4am, they said they had none in stock, to call and cancel it.
*I called at 6am CT, and canceled it.
*At 7:18am CT, they sent confirmation of my cancellation.
*At 7:25am CT, they sent confirmation that the green snowman gift card that was on it's way.
*At 4pm EST, the UPS guy delivers the canceled computer.
*At 6:01pm EST, Walmart.com sends a confirmation email stating the now canceled order has shipped. Includes a tracking number. It says it has shipped on 12/19/07, will arrive on 12/20/07.
*On 12/20/07 at 4:16am EST, Walmart.com sends a tracking number for the green snowman gift card (that will be given away on this blog) for UPS that says I will get it today.
*On 12/20/07, they finally take the payment from my CC, in the amount of $390.10. The original CC hold was for $421.10, they refunded $31.00 of the $36.00 1 day expedited shipping charges because it never shipped like I paid for.
*On 12/20/07, the Walmart.com order history page, says the now canceled computer will arrive on 12/20/07.
*The UPS website confirms it was delivered on 12/19/07. It states that it was shipped on 12/18/07, at 8:56pm CT, the day before I canceled it because they said they had none in stock.
If I called and canceled it at 6am CT on 12/19/07, and they confirmed it was canceled at 7:18am CT, why did they send a confirmation at 6:01pm EST, stating it had shipped that day?
If they actually shipped it on 12/18/07, how come when I called at 6am CT on 12/19/07 to cancel it, did they not know it had shipped?
Why did they tell me they had none in stock and were not going to ship, here have a gift card, when they had actually shipped it the day before?
Yes, I am very, very happy I got it, thrilled I actually got it at all after all this crap they put me through, but why tell me they didn't have any, let me cancel the order, when they had already shipped it?
They sent the shipping confirmation 2 hours after UPS dropped it off, and said I would get it today.
I don't understand how they could make so many mistakes with this order.
I don't understand why they let me cancel an order that had shipped the day before.
Why didn't they know it had shipped?
The $20.00 green snowman gift card is supposed to arrive today.
I stand by what I said, that I will never shop at a Walmart store or at Walmart.com again.
When the green snowman gift card arrives, I will take a picture of it and post it on this blog.
Anyone who wants it (US residents only, sorry) can post to the comments of that post with a valid email address. They will have 24 hours to post to those comments, after 24 hours, I will close the comments and put all the names in a bowl and draw 1 winner for the card.

Do we have to use it, or can we just p**s on it? ;-)

I bet they don't do much drop shipping and didn't communicate with whatever company had your computer in stock and shipped it. I agree that it was handled atrociously. My husband and I have boycotted Wally World for years due to their unethical business practices so none of this surprised me.

Walmart just straight up sucks, plain & simple. I try not to ever, EVER shop there. Only one time out of ten (and I don't even go into Walmart stores ten times in a year's time) has my shopping experience been 'okay'. Not nice, but just okay. About six times out of ten, the experience was irritating and enough to keep me out of their stores for a while afterwards. Three times out of ten, the experience was rotten, horrible, and shitty and made even worse by their (lack of) customer service.
Walmart didn't start out that way, and I bet ol' Sam is spinning in his grave over what his relatives have let his empire become.

That is just some crazy crap.... I'm glad you go the computer in time for Christmas.
Nice of you to give away the gift card, too.

I'm sorry you had a bad time with Walmart. My friend ordered a bike online for my little girl and had it shipped to a Walmart near me and I got it earlier than expected. I also had my dad order a kitchen for my girl for Christmas last week and it arrived at a store near me yesterday. I've picked up the bike and will pick up the kitchen this weekend. I guess my point is they do suck sometimes and sometimes they come through :)

Well I'm sure the boys are happy to finally have their computer, so there's the positive look on this.
On the other hand however I can't help but shake my head at the disorganization and general headache inducing antics of Wal-Mart. O.O Outrageous doesn't begin to describe this.
