I only dreamed I woke up.

I have 2 alarms, 2, and they are both set for 5:45am.
You know where this is going don't you?

I must have dreamed I woke up and got the teens up, because when I rolled over at 7:54, and decided to get up for the day, I came out to the living room and saw that the bar was still on the door.
I ran to Mark's room where he was still fast asleep, I screamed in a total panic, "Wake up OMG! I don't know what happened! OMG!"
Mark gets up, asks what time it is, I tell him it's almost 8am, and he's like "Fuck. By the time we get there mom it will be after 8, I won't get in. They'll send us home for being tardy, especially me, new view program? Yeah. What happened?"

I told him I didn't know, but I know I set both alarms, I do it every night at 10pm, I must have just rolled over and shut them off and went back to sleep.
He was like it's ok mom, I can do my work at home, but Sebastian, he's screwed.
Yeah, I know.
Fuuuuuck!

I hate it when this happens.
I've done this at least 3 times now this year, and I can't explain why I do it.
I just have no idea why my brain doesn't register the difference between the dream and reality when the alarms go off.
Like wtf am I dreaming about that would cause me to think I got the kids up?
Dammit.

I have done that twice myself this year... with Katie... and I realized it was when I had taken a prescription for my migraines. So.. I don't take that before bed anymore just Tylenol. Maybe the pills you are on give you that feeling too. Just a thought. So... did the kids go or did you allow them to stay home? Enquiring minds want to know:)

You have to hate it when that happens. When I wake up late and rush, rush, rush, I get a sick feeling in my stomach. lol

When I was in Seattle with my family, my wife set both alarms, and the TV and still woke up late and she is a teacher, lol.. she was only 5 mins late and they covered for her, but I think she has the same issue. She just likes to turn the alarms off.. :)

Maybe set one alarm like 2 minutes off or something, or maybe catch one of those gators in your neighbor hood and if you dont get up after 2 snoozes he bites your leg? LMFAO...
hehe

I turn my alarms off in my sleep fairly often. I just chalk it up to my body doing what it's gotta do to get some extra sleep.

The kids are old enough to get their own backsides out of bed! Set backup alarms in their rooms...

I'd buy them all alarms for their birthday..;) helps them to become more responsible..;)

Fear of something like that happening is why I always placed my alarm clock out of reach from the bed. I figured out I'd have a chance of sorta waking up while making way out of bed to turn them off.

I do that a lot too. I've found that it's not the amount of alarm clocks you have, but the distance to them, that helps me. I have my alarm clock stationed next to the television - clear across the room. It has this annoying buzz ring too. So when it goes off I have to get up, make my way across the room, fumble around on the stereo shelf, which is where it's at, and turn it off. By then I've heard the annoying buzz and walked around enough that I'm awake. Sleepy and tired? Yes, but awake and not likely to think it all a dream.

I do that sometimes, too. I don't dream that I've woken up, I just am sometimes so tired and out of it that I turn my alarms off and have no recollection of it. My sons' school, here at the very end of the school year, have decided on a stupid new rule where the 7th graders (one of my kids is in 7th grade) have to be there 10 minutes earlier than usual, or they are written up as tardy. It has been impossible for me to get everyone up, ready, and rolling in time for him to make it on time. I hope this won't eventually result in an in-school suspension for him due to tardies.
