I miss that smell.

Those are my moms giant lilac trees in the back yard.
They smell incredible, I miss that beautiful smell.
I miss sitting out on patio furniture on the back deck, looking over the whole back yard, inhaling that intoxicating aroma of those lilac trees.
I haven't seen a single lilac tree since moving down here.
I've seen some blooms similar, but they were definitely not lilacs.
They do not smell anything like those trees in my mom's back yard.
I don't even know if they could grow here, but I'd love to get some seedlings or even a small-ish growing tree, and plant it in the front yard and see if it will actually grow in the Florida heat.
I'd love to have one so I could sit out in my front yard and inhale that wonderful scent all the time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting.
I actually found your blog several months ago when I was looking for blogs from other single moms, before I started my own. Yours and about 3 or 4 others are the reason I started my own!
So thanks for the inspiration! :)

They need a lot of sunlight, that much I know. As for the heat, I'm not sure, but you can probably offset that with lots and lots of watering.

Not to rub it in, but they are blooming here in Michigan! I love the smell of them too and am thinking of planting one so I can enjoy it for years to come.
