I'm skeered to go food shopping.
I have to go to the grocery store later today and get some more food for the human food disposals, but I'm worried about how much it's going to cost.
Publix is having a HUGE buy 1 get 1 free sale, but the prices of food are increasing every single day due to the trickle down effect of rising gas prices.
I'm getting far less groceries for the same amount of money than I used to just a few months ago.
Bread used to be .89 cents a loaf, it's now $1.59.
A gallon of milk used to be $3.20, it's now $4.20.
A pound of ground beef was $2.29, it's now $3.99.
The prices are getting higher and it's putting a serious crimp in my grocery budget.
And Sebastian's birthday is coming up, and I already got him a really nice digital drawing pad for an awesome price thanks to Charlotte, and I'm going to try as hard as I can to get him the computer memory he needs so he can run his Sims 2 games on his computer.
The boys Aunty Heather got them an awesome monitor instead of sending her old one like she had planed to do.
It would have cost her over $150 to pack and ship her old Dell monitor here, so she bought a 17" flat panel gaming monitor for just $89 with free shipping.
It's an Acer, just like the brand tower they have, so they have quite the nice setup going on their room.
I'd love to be able to get him the memory card though.
It will help make their computer run much faster, and help make his games look and run better.
I'm going to do some major price shopping on all the electronics sites and local stores as well.
He gets so frustrated when the Sims lag or freeze up because there isn't enough memory to keep it running for longer than an hour.

I have a desktop that I don't use anymore since the power supply doesn't work. It has 1 gig of memory and I'll be more than happy to send it your way if it's compatible with the motherboard.

Ouch!! I'm glad our milk prices aren't that high yet. We are lucky to every once and awhile still be able to get milk in the high $2 range and that's when I buy a couple gallons.

I want shopping yesterday and I spent the same amount I do every week but only got about 3/4 worth of food that I normally do. Y'know, since I am out of work and I am pretty much available we could go together when you need to go. Just a thought

My hubby usually shops at newegg, he always gets great deals from them... What kind of drawing pad did you get him and where?

A girl who works the checkout at a store here warned me last week about the rising prices -- she said we wouldn't be seeing the same specials anymore, such as bags of pasta for 69 cents. But I found a special at 99 cents, which was still well below the 2.69 of the cheapest no-name brand, so I grabbed a couple of bags which I really don't need. I guess we'll all be really researching the specials for awhile!
