In my head.

I had to go to bed early last night because I had to get up for my doctors appointment this morning, and I have this routine, habit, whatever, that I do before I actually fall asleep.
I have to go in and make my bed, straighten out my sheets, turn on my lava lamp, (yes, I do have one and I love it) and then get all settled in and comfortable before I pop my earbuds in.

I was thrown totally off last night because my MP3 players battery died after playing just 3 songs.
It has an internal battery that charges by usb, and it would have taken a long time to come back out here, plug it in, and wait for it to charge up, so i said screw it, I can sleep without music tonight, and I'll charge it tomorrow.

Wrong!

I had the worst time falling asleep last night.
I tossed and turned, and tried to think of lyrics to songs, hear the tunes in my head, but it didn't work.
I really do need to hear music so I can sleep.
The louder the better too.
When I came home from the docs, the first thing I did was to go get my mp3 player and bring it out to charge it up.
Tonight sleeping will come easier.

Comments

I never sleep with my earbuds, but before my husband got moved to day shift, I fell asleep to the tv every night...the only thing that bothered me was when he would mute it or turn it off if he came to bed early, because then I would wake up and not be able to get back to sleep.

Now? I have to read before I fall asleep.

Believing there's no God means I can't really be forgiven except by kindness and faulty memories. That's good; it makes me want to be more thoughtful. I have to try to treat people right the first time around.- Penn Jillette
