Saving junk.

I love watching the antiques roadshow on PBS.
Today's episode, they were talking about old beer bottles and beer cans, and how much they are worth.
They even had a lady who saved a bunch of wine bottles like from being part of some wine of the month club, and she thought they were worth a lot of money.
They were indeed old wine bottles, but they weren't worth anything at all.
She was a bit disappointed, but at least she knows she can throw them away now, they guy told her they'd never be worth anything.

But this show always gets me thinking about all of the things the boys hold onto and they hope it will be worth something someday.
Mark has, saved away in a box and airtight plastic bag in my closet, the entire baseball card collection of the very first season of the Power Rangers.
He has every single card in the series, even the holographic special ones which were pretty hard to find.
He's convinced that this collection will be worth a lot of money someday, and I honestly don't know.
They are all in really good shape, he never played with them, just collected them and organized them by number.
Maybe they will be worth something someday, I have no idea, but I'll keep holding onto them for him and maybe someday they will be.
I'm sure most kids got their cards and played with them, mothers probably tossed them out when they found them on the bedroom floors, or they got ripped up and stuff, so it's hard to say just how many full sets are still out there.

You never know! I don't know how much of my stuff was really worth anything...but I do wish that I had, for sentimental and decorating reasons, held onto my metal KISS lunchboxes from the 70s! Or any of my metal lunchboxes, really.

You should see the Pokemon collection Jeff and Chris have. It's outrageous. They are both convinced it will be worth money years from now. Let's hope so right?

Most everything will be worth something someday, it's finding room to keep it all that's hard!

(I used to love playing the Power Rangers Nintendo game!!)
