New Xbox Experience.
The New Xbox Experience is a go today, we downloaded the update, we have the new avatars, and we also have the Netflix streaming movies through the Xbox, because I already have a Netflix account for $13.99 per month, which is unlimited monthly rentals of physically shipped DVDs, and unlimited instant watching on my computer, and the teens can now have all of the Watch Instantly titles on their tv through the xbox, in unlimited monthly viewing too.
My Netflix account, it's now linked to their Xbox live account, which only took like 2 seconds to do out here on my computer by simply adding a 4 letter/number combo into my Netflix account.
From my computer out here in the living room, we can add as many Watch Instantly titles to my instant watching queue, and now the teens can watch all of their favorite anime movies in that room, and I won't have to watch Ghost in the Shell for the millionth time out here in the living room.
I am Sooooo totally excited about this because, while I do enjoy some anime movies, I don't enjoy all of the same ones the teens do, and they don't enjoy all of the same movies I added to the queue.
The Netflix streaming movies through the NXE (new xbox experience) is only for movie titles and tv shows that are available as Watch Instantly titles.
There are some new released titles available for the Watch Instantly queue, and tv shows including some current season ones too, but it's mostly older titles, but who cares?
You can watch as many of those titles as you want every month for the one low price of your Netflix account.
I am so loving this and it's only been about 3 hours since we downloaded the NXE update, made our avatar, and linked our Netflix account to our Xbox live gold account.
It's just really awesome to know that they can watch their movies in there, and I can watch mine out here, and because the Netflix account is on my computer, I have total say over what they add to the queue to watch in there.
There are some anime movies that are for adults only, so when they add movies to the queue, I can check them out before they watch it, and if it's an adult anime, it's getting deleted from the queue immediately.
I have stuff on my queue like Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, Lake of Fire, and some of my fave classics like Firestarter and They Live, which they have no interest in watching.
So this whole NXE thing, is going to be really nice for our different tastes in movie choices.
