Must be both interesting and frustrating.
I've always wondered how someone goes about getting PR type admin careers, like doing PR for a company, contacting bloggers like us, and coming up with creative ways to market a new product, website or idea.
I imagine it's both fun and frustrating though, everybody is different, has different styles, ways of thinking and doing things, and you don't always get the results you want.
I get contacted quite often about doing book and product reviews, and I absolutely love doing them, it's so much fun to test out a new product, really give it a good go, and then be able to write up your opinions on it.
There have been a couple of times that the PR person wasn't so pleased though.
They wanted my honest opinion as long as it was honestly positive apparently.
I always tell the person when they contact me, that I will give my honest opinion of the product, it doesn't matter if they let me keep it forever or even pay me for the review, I am going to review it honestly, yet the few times a product just really didn't quite live up to the hype, I was honest about it and they were not happy.
I know this has happened to other bloggers as well, and it's just as frustrating on our end to be told to be honest, but when we do and our review is less than stellar, they get upset.
But I made a promise to myself and my readers, to always be honest about anything I get to review, I could never let myself live it down if I lied about a product just to make an advert happy.
Sure, I may lose that advert, but it's better to be totally honest.
