Pow-pow-powerball.

powerballticket.jpg

I bought a Powerball ticket this morning, just easy pick numbers because I've never played Powerball before, and the guy at 7-11 didn't seem to know too much about it either, they just went on sale in Florida yesterday, so it's all new to most of us.
It was $1, and I figure $1 won't kill me to spend with the jackpot sitting at $105 million already right?
Right!

The teens are off to school, not totally thrilled, but they went along on their merry way in the fog and drizzle.
Well, as happy as 2 teens can be walking to school in the fog and drizzle.

Man, it's quiet in here.
I don't know what to do.
I only slept for 45 minutes the whole night, so maybe I'll lay on the couch, watch some morning news shows, and hopefully drift off to sleep for a little bit.

All you moms of kids going back today, what's your plan for the day?

*P.S. Edit*
I just realized at 7:54am, that I didn't explain why I was at 7-11 so early in the morning.
I woke the teens up at 5:45, Mark took his shower, Sebastian took his, and then they asked me if we could make a mad dash to 7-11 to get some food in case the cafeteria is a total madhouse today during lunch because it's the first day back after Christmas break.
I realized that they were probably right, so I got dressed and Sebastian and I hauled ass up the street at 6:10am, bought some of the freshly made ham subs, a Mountain Dew Code Red for Mark, a Pepsi for Sebastian, a bag of chips each, and 2 sticks of beef jerky each.
No, not the most nutritious, but if indeed the cafeteria is absolute chaos, then this convenience store lunch is better than no lunch at all which is what would possibly happen.
I only wish we had thought of this last night instead of so early this morning.

I really envy SAHM's, Ethan goes back to preschool today and I'm headed to work! i know your not a SAHM by choice but you really are lucky! I don't even get to cook dinner for my son until my off days! He eats with my parents! Snyways hope you have a wonderful day and catch up on some sleep!

I really envy moms who get to work outside the home sometimes.
No lie.
The day my doctors told me that I had to quit working because of my spine, that if I kept working I would cause damage so severe that they may not be able to fix me, I sat there on the table and bawled my eyes out.
I cried almost every single day for weeks.
I was so distraught over not being able to work, I tried to go back to work about 3 months later.
After just 6 days, I realized the doctors were right. I was in so much pain that by the end of the day I couldn't even walk upright.
I was weak and my legs were numb, and I had to walk home, not far, maybe about 8 small city blocks, that every day I called my sons and my roomie at the time, to start walking and meet me halfway because I was afraid I would fall down and hurt.
I didn't have a cell phone at the time, so I called daily before I left work because I was so scared.
At the end of those 6 days, I had to quit, told my employer how sorry I was, but I just had to try and work, I had to see if I could.
He understood, he actually thanked me for trying, said I had an excellent work ethic and that if my health situation ever improved, to call him and he'd hire me back.

For several years after that, I was really depressed about it still.
Then I found paid blogging, I had been blogging since 1997 anyway, it was easy enough work, I could do it on my own time, when I felt good, after getting rest, I was a freelancer, it felt so good to be making money again.
No, it's not the kind of money I made working outside the home, but it does help me pay all of my bills.
But honestly, if I could ever work outside the home again, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I miss being around people, interacting with adults, having conversations, meeting new people every day, (I worked in customer service, retail work, customer service manager at Pier 1 Imports and Petsmart) I was always around people and busy non-stop, and I loved every single minute of it.

I did miss out on a lot of things while my kids were growing up.
I worked 12-16 hour days sometimes, they ate with babysitters, slept at sitters, did homework with sitters, but all of my hard work paid our bills, it made sure they had decent birthdays, trips to Disney World and Busch Gardens.
I have some guilt about all the long hours and things I missed, but I do miss it still sometimes.

We don't have Powerball in Massachusetts, but they have it in New Hampshire. The state line is not too far, so when the jackpot gets big like this, we drive up there and buy tickets. (We also do some tax-free shopping when we're up there...LOL!)

They have Powerball in Maine, too; maybe your parents should buy a ticket.

We do have MegaMillions here, and sometimes that jackpot gets really high, as well. I don't think it's that big this week, though.

Good luck!

I'm sorry you had to head out to get food so early in the morning! I gotta be honest though, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's done that, lol. In the past, I've grabbed lunchables since my girls seem to love that crap. Now, I keep tons of cups of noodles and soups at hand stocked, so they can grab one or two when I've spaced and not stocked up on sandwich stuff.

My daughter went back to school today but I still have the 2 lil ones and Tony is working AGAIN so I am doing what I do everyday. Watching my favorite shows and playing with the kids. Attempting a nap when they go nap and then continuing my day as normal. I hope you win some money on power ball and get some rest.

My two little ones actually don't return back to school until tomorrow and let me tell you I will be one happy momma when that happens. (tons of fighting). Hope you get some rest today!
