Thanks to Single Edition and Jessie Steele, I have a new item to giveaway to 1 lucky reader!

Jessie Steele sells vintage inspired aprons that are beautiful as well as functional.
From their site;

Jessie Steele's vintage-inspired, hostess and kitchen aprons prove true the old adage that beauty and style are timeless. Influenced by the romantic visions of a bygone era, and designed in vibrant colors, flirty patterns and figure flattering shapes, these fine quality, retro-chic cooking aprons make the perfect fashion accessory in or out of the kitchen.

I have 1 gorgeous apron to giveaway to just 1 lucky reader.
The design is called "Summer Lemons", and it is a really flirty and fun print, and it's perfect to wear during the summer months to help keep you clean while cooking or baking in the kitchen all summer, or even while having a BBQ in the back yard.

Heirloom quality Designer Hostess Apron constructed from a fine Linen/Cotton Blend. Ties at neck and waist for easy adjusting. Contrast Bias-trimmed at edges. Button details on the chest and pocket. An absorbent terry towel attached at the hip adds extra utility in the kitchen. Appropriate for not just cooking, but for any occasion!

I received 2 of these aprons, 1 for me to keep, and 1 for me to giveaway to 1 of you!
When I opened the package for my apron, I instantly fell in love with the print!
It is just too cute!
And I love that it comes with a detachable terry cloth towel buttoned on the left hand side, so that I have a towel right by my side to wipe my hands on while cooking.
I hate having to look for a dishtowel, or trying to remember where I sat it down last as I'm busily preparing dinner.
The apron will fit most any size, you can tie it any way you like so that it will fit you comfortably!

I have a lot of good recipes, but the one Mike asks for the most is the Beef Noodle Casserole from a Chef Paul Prudhomme book. Think of it as Hamburger Helper, but made from scratch and much tastier!

5.

The recipe for the Beef-Noodle Casserole is too long to type out here. But I had already posted this on one of my blogs, the link to it is in the URL field.

: I'm known most of all for my cookies, although I get requests for anything I bake. But definitely the cookies. People seem to have such trouble with cookies, and I could make my chocolate chip ones in my sleep. But I have practiced ALOT! I LOVE this apron, btw. Lemon is one of my favorite flavors too!

Thanks!

Very cool contest. I can't cook worth a darn, nor do I need an apron. But I'll be watching and enjoying the contest nonetheless.

Hey Kat, great contest! I plan to make the most of it because that Apron ROCKS! I just redid my kitchen and lemons are my accent and that green is one of my colors too!

A fave at my house is my pineapple cake with cheese cake filling and fresh fruit on top, usually a medley of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. I make it for all the summer time special occasions with family and at church functions. I'm gonna post about it on my blog and show a picture from last year's 4th of July! I'll be back to give the recipe :)

Fruit topped Pineapple Cheesecake

Ahead, wash & drain strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. Cut up strawberries into bite size pieces and cut the blackberries in half. Put all the fruit into a bowl, sprinkle *some* sugar or Splenda over the top, put a lid on it and store away in the fridge for alteast 4-24 hours. Save 1 pretty strawberry, a couple of blueberries and a blackberry to garnish the top later. Put in ziplock bag and set in the fridge.

Bake a pineapple cake according to directions on package in a special pan if you have one. I use an aluminum pan shaped like a short basket and there is a 'well' at the top once it is flipped out and cooled.

Purchase a tub of Cheesecake filling already made and spoon it into a gallon size zip lock bag. Trim 1 corner to create a piping bag.

Place the cooled cake on a large serving platter with curved edges. Pipe the filling into the well so that every piece of cake will have filling. Save about a 1/4 cup of filling for garnish. Pour on all of the fruit and it's juices. It will pour over the sides and down onto the platter, that's a good thing. Spread the fruit so that the entire top of the filling is hidden beneath. Use the last of the filling to make a swirled plop in the center on top of the fruit and use your saved garnish fruit on top of that! Enjoy!

Best food dish:

Wife saw a recipe online a while ago and showed me it saying it sounded good. I immediately went and made it and now because we enjoyed it I get to make it on a regular basis,

Garlicky Oven Fries.

17.

Garlicky Oven Fries.

6 garlic cloves, minced.
6 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 russet potatoes (about 8oz each), cut into 12 wedges
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
3/4 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/4 teaspoons cayenne pepper (I usually leave this out as wife doesn't like it).

Oven is preheated to 457F. The garlic and oil is combined in a large bowl and nuked in microwave until the garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute. Take out 5 tablespoons of the oil (leaving garlic in bowl)use it to coat a rimmed baking sheet.

Add the potatoes to the bowl with the remaining oil mixture and toss to coat (wear an apron!). Get crazy with plastic wrap and wrap tightly then microwave on high power 3 to 6 minutes or until the potatoes are translucent around the edges, halfway through shake the bowl to redistribute the potatoes.

Combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, cornstarch and cayenne in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the hot potatoes and toss well to coat (you're still wearing the apron right?), arrange the potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and bake, turning once until golden brown and crisp (if golden black, you've done them too much)30 to 40 minutes, serve.

Before I eat mine I add Frank's hot sauce.
