Light on, light off.

The lights in the kitchen ceiling lamp are blown out.
This requires a chair, bulbs, and a kid to hold the chair steady.
I have to do this soon because they are leaving to go to some wing tasting thing downtown.

I got my t-shirt and the cd for Latttegirl in the mail today from The Montel Williams Ms Foundation.
Latte, I'll be burning it for me first, then sending it to you. Ha ha

I also got a new bracelet from the silver jewelry club that I ordered awhile ago, but it got lost in the mail.
They have an awesome policy on replacing items that never showed up. Within a week of letting them know I didn't get it, I got my new one.
They rock.
It's a sterling rolo box chain, really delicate.
I'll probably have it snapped in a week. hahaha

Not much else going on right now. Just slacking off really.
Later days.

Blogathon 2007 update.

Dear Ms. Cooper:

Several donations have been made to The Montel Williams MS Foundation in your name.

Because of people like you, we have funded research at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden that has identified an MS gene, MHC2TA. Important gains, like that one in Sweden and others across this nation, give hope to those who are afflicted and affected by MS.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to redirect 100 percent of your donation to the nation's top research institutions working toward a cure.
Every dollar counts.

Sincerely,
Johanna MacKay
Foundation Assistant

Thank you all again so much for sponsoring me and donating to help find the cure.

Do you take the free gift?

As I was making the donations in the boys names, and for my parents, I was greeted with gift choices.
Thank you gifts for making my donation to the Montel Williams MS Foundation.
Dog tags, a cd, a t-shirt, or a catalog of paintings.

I chose no gift.
Sure, all the funding is underwritten by Montel, so the costs of these items and cost of shipping these items, comes out of the administrative funding, but it's money they can use elsewhere in finding a cure I thought.

In past donations I've made to other charities, I have taken the gift.
I've gotten t-shirts and cds before, I think one time I even got a t-shirt and a cd together.

Do you take the gifts when making donations?

EDIT*
If you sponsored me and have not gotten the email to now make your donation, this is what is posted on the Blogathon site;

Every year it happens. Doesn't matter how we send thousands of emails, just the act of doing so lands us in the spam heap for some folks. So please, be sure to check your spam folder for sponsor emails. They will say blogathon.org, and may also say cornerhost on them, as that's the server we sent from.

If you're email still isn't in there, just click the link I posted above and make your donation.
This wasn't about my own personal tally, it was about raising money for a good cause, so paying through the blogathon email link is not a huge deal to me. Just make your donations and we're all good.

Aha! I was missing emails for 2 sponsors!

I want to apologize to Kim D. and Charlotte.
I never received the blogathon emails for their sponsorships, so with them added in, my totals are now correct in the sidebar.
This also makes my last sponsor, Deb, who does not have a blog, the sponsor who got me closest to my wanted goal of $850, and the winner of the Harry Potter book.
I have sent her an email asking for her address so it can be sent to her.

I also want to mention again that you can still help me by sponsoring me still on the thon site until 8:30am tomorrow morning, or you can make a purchase from 2 on line stores from a few fellow blogging friends.
First is Lisa, the post about her offer is here, and she is offering a percentage of sales until August 6th.
And Mindy, whose store, Regalo Boutique, is offering a percentage of sales until August 15th.
Currently, Mindy has had;
* Total Orders: $111.54
* Sponsored $: 22.30
So that's totally awesome of her to do.
Lisa got a late start with her offer, but it is running until August 6th.
Both of them have exceptional quality items, and even though it's July, the holidays are coming up, you could get some great gifts for family and friends, get that head start on Christmas shopping, and help raise money for the Montel Williams MS Foundation while you're at it.

Almost figured out.

survive-blogathon.gif

Ok, I sent the thon team an email, asking for help determining the very last sponsor, because I added up the email amounts I received, plus the info from 2 sponsors who said they sponsored twice, and I'm still off by $30.00.
Whoever the last sponsor is, won the book, but I can't figure it out.
I have added and re-added several times now, no dice.
And, according to the home page, you have 48 hours from when I stopped blogging yesterday morning at 8:30am, to make more sponsorships should you choose to do so.
(Yes, I want my calculations to be way, way off. LOL)
I will figure it all though and let the book winner know who they are as soon as possible.
I thank each and everyone of you who sponsored me, stayed awake with me, sent me disturbing and funny emails, and basically kept me laughing until I passed out.

A lot of that honor goes to my sons though, who stayed up the entire night with me and did the robot, the chicken dance, had a fart contest and a burp contest, let me school some stupid punks on xbox360, and tried their hardest a few times, to make me sleepy.
Yes they did! HA!
They shut off all the lights, turned on classical music, and said "shush mommy, just sleeeeep."
Little darlings aren't they?
It was quite funny though. I loved their attempts to make me screw up.
I wouldn't have wanted it to go any other way.

I have an errand to run this morning, and then I should be back in full gallop here.
I finally slept the whole night, I'm awake, refreshed, and yee fucking haw, ready to get back to normal.
Well, as normal as my life can be anyway. *wink*
Later days!

I'm missing a pledge thingy. or two.

Yes, I'm awake. I know.

Anyway, I'm missing a pledge thingy. The last one I received, was for $20 which brought me to $787.50. I had 30 pledges when I went to bed at 8:30am.
My total is actually 31 pledges totaling $828.38, but I have no idea who is the last one. I did not receive another notification of a pledge.

If it was you, please let me know.

I am so damn tired now.
I need to lay down in the worst way ever.
My eyes are glazed over, my ass and legs are numb. I've even gotten up and walked around, done stuff, so this is just pure exhaustion now.
Hopefully i can fall asleep when this is all done.
If not...I'm going to sleep for a long time tonight

I am not giving up.
I cannot quit now no matter what my eyelids are telling me...*laughs*

I did get another sponsor for $20 more, but I have no idea who it's from. They did not reply to my email, but I wanted to say thank you.
You know who you are, and maybe you'll let me know.
It is so appreciated, and that makes all this lack of sleep, aching back, worth every minute of it.

This is seriously one of the coolest songs that the band ELO (electric light orchestra) ever did. I swear, this song is simply amazing to listen to.
Put on some head phones, lay back and just go with it.
The guitar work is incredible. The beat is killer.
Simply an awesome piece of music.

You know that right?
The person who gets me to $850 gets a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. That will be shipped anywhere in the world.
Just a few more hours to go, and I really need some more sponsors.
There are various mp3s located throughout the posts, download 'em, sponsor me a buck or two, it's all good.

Furthermore, I hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued
But I'll repeat myself at the risk of being crude
There must be fifty ways to leave your lover
Fifty ways to leave your lover

You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Ooo slip out the back, Jack

Just listen to me
Hop on the bus, Gus

Kate blogs about a multitude of subjects including home remodeling, her love of some guy who does dirty jobs, *wink*, and food allergies.
When my nieces were discovered to have food allergies, I knew just who to contact about what to do.

[20:30] onecattyKat: Thank you!
[20:30] her unsober life: You're going to laugh at this but I actually kind of know of you through ***.
[20:31] onecattyKat: really?
[20:31] her unsober life: I saw you on TV, and then I started talking to ***.
[20:31] her unsober life: and we kind of became friends.
[20:31] onecattyKat: that's nice
[20:31] her unsober life: but I still pop on your site every now and then.
[20:31] her unsober life: My uncle died from MS, so I was really happy to see that you were blogging for that.
[20:31] onecattyKat: well thank you
bullshit chit chat to keep person talking
[20:44] onecattyKat: you said you saw me on tv talking about ***?
[20:45] her unsober life: yeah good morning americai
[20:45] onecattyKat: ABC never aired his name or his nickname
[20:45] her unsober life: but it was so short
[20:48] onecattyKat: So, I'm going to assume that this is not some random person chatting with me who happened to see the segment. ABC never aired his names.
[20:48] *** Error while sending IM: This user is currently not logged on
User logs in and out several times, blames AIM for not getting my messages
[20:51] her unsober life: still there?
[20:51] onecattyKat: I am
[20:52] her unsober life: i am having technical diffuculties
[20:52] her unsober life: did you see all the stuff i wrote bout good morning america and ***?
[20:52] onecattyKat: yes
[20:52] onecattyKat: did you see what I said
[20:52] her unsober life: no
[20:52] onecattyKat: ABC never aired his names. Not his real name or nickname of ***
[20:53] onecattyKat: NOT once
[20:54] onecattyKat: care to explain the real way reason you know me and the *** bullshit?
[20:55] onecattyKat: No? didn't think so
[20:55] *** Error while sending IM: This user is currently not logged on
[20:55] her unsober life: I am so over AIM.
[20:55] her unsober life: I just typed out a novel and it shut off
[20:56] onecattyKat: so you keep missing the important shit
[20:57] onecattyKat: Look, I really do not want to discuss *** with you or anyone for that matter. especially when I know ABC never aired his names, so this is a made up story.
[20:57] onecattyKat: Sorry, but I can't talk anymore
[20:57] her unsober life: I said , I remember seeing you on GMA, I think it was you with the curly hair, and then I was going to show the video about cyberstalking to my friend who blogs, so I searched it online, and maybe that's how I found you/***. I'm sorry if the details were not perfect ,but I know I found you and him through that show , one way or another. I don't have anything against you at all. I wanted to IM you to talk about the blogathon and MS.
[20:57] her unsober life: So, Anyways.
[20:58] onecattyKat: But try and see my side of this. By having any conversation with someone whom he is friends with, puts me in more direct harm from him.
[20:58] onecattyKat: I cannot continue this conversation. I am sorry
[20:59] her unsober life: I understand completely, but on an ending note, just because I know him over the internet, doesn't mean I hate anyone/everyone he hates. So, I wish you luck and like I said I will sponsor.
[21:00] onecattyKat: I understand, but he uses people to get to me. Please understand my concerns. I am not trying to be rude at all.
[21:00] her unsober life: I know. Good Luck :-)
[21:00] onecattyKat: Thank you.

See that book? Want to read that book? Know someone who wants to read that book?
Here's the deal, who ever sponsors me to get me to the $750.00 mark, gets that book absolutely free.
I'm at $677.50 now, we're only talking $73.00 here people.
That's it, not a lot, but it will get me closer to my goal.
I'm kinda bummed.
I haven't had a single sponsor all day, so I'm giving away a brand new copy, never read, of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I mean seriously, what is it gonna take to get people to sponsor me?
Terry, do NOT say nudes, we had that conversation this morning..*laughs*
I know I set my bar high, but MS is a really worthy cause. It can strike anyone at any time.
Women get it more than men, people living in cold climates get it more than in warm, it can strike at any age.
We need a cure.
In order to get that cure, we need to raise money because sadly, scientists and doctors don't work for free.
Imagine what an awesome world it would be if they did.
*sigh*

So come on people, sponsor me, tell people to sponsor me.
I know it's Saturday and people are out enjoying the summer weather, but I need your help.
I'm also going to be giving away something else to the person who gets me at $1,000, so come on, sponsor me!
Click the button in the top of my sidebar!

The book is actually being donated by Christine.
I have some amazing people trying to help me meet my goal ya see. They are offering up gifts, percentages of money earned from their on line stores and businesses, this is a real community effort going on here.

One of the hazards of having my IM on all day and posting my user names, is actually getting people to chat with me.
Random people who stumble across the blog, or just somehow find me.

So I'm chatting with Jerm and Terry right now, but a few minutes ago, I got asked a few questions by some guy.
You know, like how are ya, what are ya doing, got any nudes.
Yeah.
Interesting.
I sorta told him to go do something with himself.
He called me a bitch.

Hello?
You call me a bitch?!
You just asked me for nudes ya freak!

My friend Jerm and I were just chatting on AIM, and talking about Warped Tour, which I missed because I couldn't get to St. Pete to go. *sadness*
Anyway, we were discussing the new hardcore style of dance.
They all just stand around, shuffling their feet, and swinging their arms.
Nobody touches anymore.
What the hell happened to moshing?
Does anyone remember good old fashioned mosh pits?
What is wrong with kids these days?
Are they afraid to get hurt?

See, I saw Pantera back in 1994, and we moshed back then.
I wasn't in the pit, but close enough to it that I felt every move of the crowd, it was wild, and it was fun.
When I got home that night, I went in the bathroom and looked in the mirror and there on the left side of my face, was a boot print.
Yes, a boot print.
I didn't feel it when it happened, it didn't hurt while I was looking at it, or ever.
It was just there.

That's when people moshed at shows. They bumped, they pushed and shoved, they helped each other from falling on the floor, they carried people above the crowds, (crowd surfing) and just had an over all awesome fun time.
You go to shows now and everyone just stands there.
Even when I went to TOOL, I saw movement in the crowd on the floor, but nothing like what we used to do.
It was more like swaying.
Nobody surfed, nobody moshed.
Kinda sad really that kids today who claim to be so hardcore, are afraid of a little moshing.
Pussies.

One of the many things I would love to do in this duplex if I stay here, is get new kitchen faucets.
Mine are grody.
This plex was built in 1976, and all the original hardware and plumbing stuff is apparently, still installed.
Look at this kitchen faucet would ya?
I scrub it and scrub it, and nope, it still looks like that, with rust stains on the porcelain sink, the caulking falling off and coming apart.
Nasty.

I said that any blogger who sponsored me would get a link the day they did, and then another during the thon. This is the start of the thanking my rocking sponsors posts.

A Prairie View was the first blogger to sponsor me, so here's a bit I like about her blog.

I like her layout, it's crisp and clean, easy to navigate.
Her font is super easy to read too. I hate it when I go to someone's blog and the font is size 1 and one shade lighter than the background. I go blind trying to read some people's blogs. *laughs*
Her entries are personal, but not too personal, just enough to give you a glimpse of who she is, but not slam you with TMI.
I am a fan of TMI, but I do appreciate bloggers who hold some mystery.

She has a teenage son who is working and going to school this year. I know how that's going to be.
Mark is going to go to school and get a job.
But, if he can't handle his grades this year, job and car will be yanked so fast his head will spin.
School is far more important to me than a job or after school activities like sports, band, drama, etc.
Do the important stuff first, then we can talk about adding more.
It seems she's the same way I am, but I'm meaner. *wink*
Go check her out when you get some time.

Diane asked me some questions that I could answer on and off throughout the day and night, so here's one of the first ones.

What is the hardest part of being a single mom?

I think the hardest part of being a single mom is that I do this alone, day in, day out, 24/7.
There is no dad to play off of, I am the good cop and the bad cop. *laughs*
I have to make all the rules, I have to enforce them, I have to do pretty much everything around here.
I pay the bills alone.
I mean, everything is done, alone.

I'd say that really is the hardest part.

Over on Jules blog the other day, she posted a video by My Chemical Romance, supposedly the teen anthem of this generation.
While the song is ok, I think the one and only true teen angst anthem ever, is off Pink Floyd's The Wall, Another brick in the wall.

Tell me what you think. Which song is the anthem of teen angst.

Here's Floyd;

And here's MCR and Teenagers;

What's amusing about this song is that it sounds like Hitler giving a speech.
It's not, it's really not.
It's about making "special" cookies.

Entry #11

In case you are just coming by, I am taking part in the 2007 Blogathon.
My charity of choice is the Montel Williams MS Foundation.
I chose this because my sister in law Jen has MS, and I have watched her slowly go from fully functioning, working, to being in an electric scooter, unable to get herself in and out of bed, in and out of the car, able to do much of anything.
Several times since being diagnosed, Jen has lost her vision for a few days at a time, then it comes back.
Imagine that for a minute.
One day you can see, then you lose your sight, then it comes back.
Imagine the terror of not knowing if today will be a day you lose vision again for a few days, or worse yet, lose it forever. They have no way of knowing if the next time it goes, if that will be the last time she ever sees again.

I also chose it because Montel himself has MS.
Because of who he is, his tv show, his books, his ability to reach millions of people and tell them about MS, he is the perfect guy to help find a cure for MS.

Also because of who he is, he has been able to support his foundation himself and with the help of corporate sponsors.
That means that 100% of all the donations they receive will go directly to the cause of finding a cure. No money will be taken out of any donations to pay the paychecks of it's employees or any other administrative cost.
How many other charities do you know of that give every single penny raised to the actual cause it was meant for?

In Montels own words;

The world needs to know the warning signs of MS and the treatment options available. The world needs to understand that many more people have MS than current data indicates. The world needs to mobilize against MS and knock it out for good.

I believe to the depth of my soul that all of these goals can be achieved. It will take courage and commitment, but these are qualities we can help each other find in ourselves. I know we can build a future of hope and health, and together we're going to win.

Diane asks;

How long has the blogathon been going on?

Do you have make written post or can you do photo blogs?

thinking ahead for next year. ;)

Ok, according to the FAQs. the blogathon has been going on since 2000. But they were posting once every 15 minutes. Dear lord, that's not even enough time to pee or eat...LOL

You can do photoblogs, I've seen quite a few when I have been going through the blogathon frame thing, so yes, I guess it's acceptable. They do prefer that with each post, you do type a few words.
Also, they don't really want you pre-writing entries, because the point is to be blogging 'live' the whole time.
If I get a bit too tired, I may have one of the teens jump on for 1 hour so I can sleep for 45 minutes. But that's only if I absolutely have to sleep.
I plan on being awake and loopy by 6am. Hahahah

No music for you! Suffer woman!
I'll get it solved. I mean, I have 24 hours to sit here and solve it right? *laughs*

Entry #5

Ok, so last night, probably why I didn't sleep well, I watched a Japanese horror flick called Audition .
It's from director Takashi Miike, and I had heard many good things about it.

Synopsis:
A middle aged widower is urged by his teenage son and film producer friend to start dating again. They devise a plan to hold a phony film audition to meet new women. The widower falls for a beautiful ballerina with a suspicious past and their courtship veers from polite romance to psycho-nightmare!

It was like the Japanese version of Fatal Attraction, but much more twisted and bloody.
It was a slow start, took a long time to get to the gore, but well worth the wait.
I really didn't think that tiny woman had it in her, but man, was she good.
"Deeper, Deeper!"
Yeah, ouch.

The teens were bored through most of it, telling me I sucked at picking movies, until of course the violence started, and then they were like "Dammit Mom! This bitch is crazy! What the hell!? I'm never ever dating! Ever!"
Hahahahahhahahaha!

She was totally psycho man, crazy, crazy!
This of course set my dreams off in motion. Visions of ex-boyfriends, some crazy women I have known who have done some pretty psycho stuff to the guys they dated.
We all know a woman or two who is completely off her rocker.
Don't lie, you know a woman who has the potential to saw off her man's foot.
It may be buried deep within, but every now and then you see that glimmer in her eye when she catches her man looking at another woman.

Lookie! I made it to #2 already!
I can't wait to see what happens on entry #38. I'm gonna be dead as a doornail.

But I found a cool thing over on the thon site. It's so you can go visit all the other thonners.
Check out the blogathon frame thingy they made.
I've been surfing it, some cool blogs on it, some great charities too.

And speaking of charities, my charity is the Montel Williams MS Foundation.
It's a debilitating disease that slowly strips away the person's bodily abilities. It's tragic and heartbreaking to watch it happen to anyone, and I know first hand what it's like to see it happen to someone you love.
You can sponsor me though by clicking the button in the sidebar, and helping me reach my goal.
It would mean a lot to me and to all the people who suffer from it now.
Montel donates 100% of all donations received to finding a cure.
There's no 25% like some charity organizations. (*coughunitedwaycough*)

I also plan on offering up some prizes as I reach my goals. The first prize will be when I hit the $1,000 mark. I'm not telling you what it is till I get close though, so you'll have to wait and see.
You can see my progress over in the sidebar.
So come sponsor me, tell others to sponsor me. It's a great cause and I'm gonna be babbling on like an idiot in about 12 hours so won't that be fun?

Thanks to Chickie over at Skittering Thoughts for her sponsorship of $25.00 for the blogathon.
Thanks Chickie!

Also, thanks to Kirsi at Shades of Blue, and Richard at Shadowscope, for spreading the word on tomorrows thon for me.
I appreciate it so, so much!

I'm at 34% of my goal, not bad, not bad at all. I'm thinking I set the bar for my first thon way too high, but I'm damn proud of the amount already sponsored. It's amazing!
You all rock my socks!

Sebastian and I went to the store, Mark didn't want to go anywhere, (*wah*) and stocked up on lots of soda, candy, snacks, tiramisu, (hey, it's caffeine man, shut up!) and all kinds of really easy to eat foods, because if any of y'all think I'm gonna blog once every 30 minutes and cook during the 24 hours, you are so sadly mistaken.
I may cook.
I did get stuff for enchiladas, and I do have the thawed beef that I would kick myself if it went bad.
The teens may luck out with a hot meal at some point tomorrow.
*wink*

I am so ready for this, I'm geared up, excited, ready to go to bed early, and wake up at 8am, take a shower, and plop my ass down by 9am eastern time ready to go.
I have about 2,000 more mp3's from discs to load onto this computer at some point tonight though.
When I got this new one, I burned all my mp3s to disc off the old pc before it died completely, and then just never added them to this one.
I am going to need every damn song I have to keep me going during the 24 hours, plus the caffeine of course.
I have everything from pop to club, to metal, to 80's and 90's, and I think I even have a few jazz mp3s tossed on a disc somewhere.

I'll be chatting by IM with whoever feels like talking to me, feel free to ask me questions that I can answer on the blog.
I'm gonna need post ideas no doubt about that, no subject will be off limits.
Ok, maybe a subject or two will be, we'll see. It will depend on what I'm asked. Ha hahahaah
Right now, I have to pee like a racehorse on lasix.
Trust me, they piss a lot. I used to date a guy who took care of race horses.. hahaha

Alrighty, I'll be answering emails in a bit, and getting my music put on this pc for tomorrow.
Later days!

Polli of Polliwog's Pond, sponsored me in the blogathon for $50.00!
Thanks so much Polli!

Last year, and this year, she chose 3 different bloggers to sponsor, all in the same amount, and she stays up the entire 24 hours with them and helps keep them awake, leaving comments and chatting on IM.

That's so awesome that she does that!
I absolutely love the way other bloggers are coming through and supporting all of us in the thon.
Blogging is an awesome community isn't it?
Amazes me every single day.

I'll be heading out tomorrow afternoon to stock up on tons of caffeine and stuff to help keep me awake. I'll also be getting cd's ready to go so I have stuff to listen to when I start getting tired.
It's going to be so much fun!
At the start of the thon, I will post up IM names so people can chat with me and stuff.

I also want to give another shout of thanks to Colleen at 3 day mom, for giving me a shout out on the thon.
Thank you so much!
If you have written me up on your blog about the thon, shoot me an email and let me know so I can give back some link love.

I'm $1,397.50 away from my goal, but I think I've done kick ass so far considering it's my first thon.

Mr. Fab is fab-u-lous!

On Saturday, I met the awesome Mr. Fab of Pointless Drivel.
He may think it's pointless and drivel, but it keeps me entertained.
Anyway, Saturdays meeting was indeed about all the cool stuff coming up in the Argus release of PayPerPost, but I got to meet several bloggers I enjoy, (will talk about each of them later on) one of them being Mr. Fab.

If you aren't reading him, you have no idea what fun you're missing while you're supposed to be working.
Sculpey sculptures of bloggers and gators? Check.
Lots of dirty mature content? Check.
A top notch radio show? Double check!

Mr. Fab sponsored me in the blogathon, and I thank him so much.
He was such a joy to meet, hang out with, learn about his painful case of shingles, and have him feel up my back.
(Like I how I got you to touch my super sensitive back with the ol' wanna feel my titanium bit? *wink wink*)

The bogathon is a week away and I'm so excited about it! I'm now at 30% of my goal and super proud of myself for being a first time thonner, and greatful to every single one of my sponsors so far.
Thank you all so much!

Steadily rising.

Sponsorships are steadily coming in, almost daily now. Two more came in from Miche and
Lisa, putting me at $582.50.
Thank you so much ladies!

8 days till the thon begins, and I'm doing pretty darn good so far. I mean for someone who's never done the thon before, I'm pretty proud of myself, and thankful to all my sponsors too.
If you'd like to sponsor me, just click the button over there in the sidebar, and sponsor me hourly or a lump sum.
All donations are made at the end of the thon and are made directly to the charity, so it's a pretty darn safe way to donate money to help fight MS.
None of the bloggers in the thon, or the Blogathon organizers, ever receive a single penny for staying up all night.
We do this because we want to help in any way we can.

And you don't like my charity, The Montel Williams MS Foundation, there is a whole list of blogs and who they are blogging for on the Blogathon site to choose from.
I'll make it easy on ya. Just click here to go to the Blogathon bloggers and charity list.
(I sorted it alphabetically for your convenience)
Find a cause close to your heart, and give.
Thank you.

I just want to give a shout out of thanks to Tricia over at As the Garden Grows, for donating a Blogad space to me to help promote my fund raising efforts in the 2007 Blogathon.
I really appreciate it Tricia, thank you so much for helping spread the word.

23% and rising!

I am now at 23% of my blogathon goal of $2,000.00 thanks to Richard over at Shadowscope.
Richard isn't able to participate this year because as usual, he is working his ass off on the weekends. I gotta hand it to him, he always seems to be working.
But he said he did the next best thing, and so Richard sponsored me in the blogathon.
Thank you so much!

Tonight on the Colleenie Weenie Show, I had a great opportunity to talk about the blogathon and The Montel Williams Ms Foundation, which is the charity I'm blogging for.
In case you may not know, Montel himself was diagnosed with MS, and he set up his foundation to help find a cure.
100% of the donations go directly to finding that cure because Montel underwrites the foundaion himself.
No VP of the foundation is taking a cut of those donations, no employees getting paid from the donations, 100% of the donated funds goes to funding and finding a cure.
That's just one of the many reasons I support Montel's MS Foundation.
Most charities tell you the money goes to the exact charity, but when you read the public records, you learn that's not true.
But with Montel, he and several corporate donors, underwrite the administrative funding.

You can sponsor me too by clicking this button. Any amount helps me reach my goal which you can see in the sidebar.
You can sponsor $1, $1 per hour, sponsor me for a one time lump sum, it's up to you.

Any help you can give me by linking to me on your blogs is greatly appreciated too.

Want some nice stuff and a way to help me in the blogathon?

Mindy and her husband Chris, own an on line boutique of great items, I love the stuff!
It's all high quality goods for your home.
Starting today, and ending July 29th, Regalo Boutique will donate 20% of it's total sales to the charity I am blogging for, the Montel Williams MS Foundation.
She posted the announcement on her blog last night.

So if you want some beautiful items for your home, and be able to help me in the blogathon, go check out Regalo Boutique.

You can keep track of my progress right in the sidebar over there -->, and Mindy will be keeping track of all the sales from now until the 29th on her site.
She'll also be posting shout outs with links to any bloggers who do make a purchase from now until then.
You'll get lots of linkage, because I'll be thanking you here too!

Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me so far, and anyone who will be sponsoring me during the thon and chatting with me as well.
It's going to be so much fun!

I'm doing pretty good so far. I'm 17% there. That's awesome for only being July 13th and the thon doesn't even start until July 28th.
Rock!

Any help you can give me by linking to me on your blogs is greatly appreciated too.

Thank you Kate!

Kate of Katespot, just sponsored me for $20.00 for the blogathon.
Thank you Kate!

In case you're just tuning in, I'm taking part in the 2007 Blogathon. I'll be blogging for 24 hours for the Montel Williams MS Foundation, so if you can sponsor me in any amount, it will be greatly appreciated.
I've now reached 16% of my goal of $2,000

Thank you all so much for helping me get even closer!

P.S.
I made the matching sponsorships in my kids names tonight for $10.00 each, now bringing my total to $335.00, 17% of my goal.
I promised I would match my parents sponsorship for each of my kids, and I've now done that.
The boys are going to help out during the thon by staying awake with me.
They are totally excited about it, and are making plans on things to do to help me stay awake the whole 24 hours.
So far, they have come up with a few different game ideas, and are working on a menu of high energy, high sugar/high caffeine edibles.
They are crazy! *laughs*

You can read all the entries on my blogathon process by clicking on the category title Bogathon 2007 on this entry, or in the sidebar.

I got another sponsor!

I'm so excited!
I got another sponsor tonight in the amount of $50.00!
I got it from Christine of The Passionate Ailurophile.

In case you don't know, I am taking part in the 2007 Blogathon this year, and my charity of choice is the Montel Williams MS Foundation.

With Christine's sponsorship added in, I am now at $295.00, that's 15% of my goal.
That rocks!
Every dollar helps get me closer, so if you can sponsor me for $1, awesome! If you can sponsor me for $10, $20, or $100, that's awesome!
Seriously, every single dollar helps get me closer to reaching my goal of $2,000.
I know that's a lot, but MS is a serious disease and it needs a serious cure.

Thank you so much for sponsoring me those of you who did, and a future thanks to those of you who will. *wink*
Any blogger who sponsors me will be linked on my donation totals page, in an entry just like this, and then again during the thon.
I'll be doing reviews of blogs that sponsor me during the 24 hours of the blogathon.
So that's 3 links you'll be getting from me, plus a chance at a not yet determined prize.
I'm thinking of taking all the names of anyone who enters, and tossing them in a bowl, and doing a drawing for an Amazon gift certificate or other on line store.
I'm even still thinking about offering gift certs to people as I reach certain thon sponsor milestones.
So definitely stay tuned for the thon, and make a sponsorship as soon as you can.
It's for a great cause, and a chance to win something too.

W00t! $20 more!

Thank you Diane for making a $20 pledge to the blogathon!
This is going so great!
I'm currently #9 in the top blogathon earners so far!
That rocks!

Have you guys got any ideas for contests? Let me know what kinds of things I should blog about or have contests for and I'll see what I can do.
Maybe a gift cert to Amazon for the person who pushes us over the first $1,000?
I dunno, let me know what things you guys would think are fun.

I'm off to clean the house now, we may be having company later on this afternoon.
I didn't get to go to the bbq today, but that's ok. It's like roasting out there.
Burgers wouldn't be the only thing cooking in that heat today...LOL

Later days.

The challenge has been met!

My sister had sponsored me for $50.00, and issued a challenge for someone to beat it.
That challenge was met this morning in the whopping amount of $100.00!!!

Bywheel, aka Martha, made that pledge of $100.00 this morning.
Thank you so much!

I also received two more pledges, one from Sue-ellen for $20.00 and one from Leigh for $10.00, bringing my total so far to $225.00!
Thank you so, so much!!

You can see donation amount and sponsors here.

If you have sponsored me or plan to, make sure you use an email addy when you do so I can contact you and get a link to your blog or be able to place your name on my sponsors page.
You can have the pledge made in your name or in honor of someone.
Any blogger who sponsors to me will get a link at the time I receive the pledge, and another one during the thon.

I am also thinking up cool things to do like maybe a contest, or give aways.
But again, thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored me so far.
I'm well on my way to my goal!

A challenge has been issued!

My sister Jo just made a donation of $50 to my blogathon charity of choice, the Montel Williams MS Foundation, and she has issued a challenge for anyone to beat her.
I love it!

There are still 22 days before the blogathon even starts, and I've already raised $85.00
This is amazing!
You can register and make your sponsorship pledge on my blogathon sponsorship page, and keep track of my totals right in the sidebar under the button, and see totals plus sponsors names and amounts here.

I am getting more excited about this with every sponsorship that comes in, and I thank those of you who have already sponsored me.
You've helped kick off what I hope will be meeting my goal of $2,000, and possibly exceeding it.
That would rock!

I've written to the Montel Williams MS Foundation, we as blogathoners are encouraged to contact our charities and let them know we are doing this.
I've only received back an acknowledgment so far, but I am hoping to hear back from them again.

MS is a terrible disease.
It takes away basic body functions leaving it's victims without the ability to walk, care for themselves.
The functions affected by the MS lesions are:
* Balance and Coordination
* Bladder/bowel control
* Pain
* Sensation
* Sexual function
* Speech
* Stamina
* Strength
* Thought process
* Vision
My sis in law Jen, is no longer able to walk at all, but she takes it in stride, is happy and does all that she can to keep her quality of life as long as she can.
MS strips away functions slowly.
MS is found more often in young people than old, more often in women than in men, and more often in cold climates than warm.
The scleroses can potentially affect every system of the body that is controlled by the nervous system.

Someone asked me yesterday why I chose the Montel Williams MS Foundation instead of the National MS Society.
I chose Montels' because he is so outspoken, passionate, determined.
It sucks that he has it, but because of his passion to find a cure, his talk show where he can discuss MS and educate people on the disease, treatments and fund raising efforts, he is the perfect one to support.
"The goals of The Montel Williams MS Foundation are to provide financial assistance to select organizations and institutions conducting the most current research, to increase allocations for research from the federal government, to raise national awareness about MS, and to educate the public.

Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $1 million for research. Montel Williams has personally raised more than $1.1 million in the fight against MS, and lent his time and talents to numerous initiatives to combat the disease."

So help me help Montels' foundation and raise money to find a cure.

I am so excited to be doing this!!
My sis Jo, asked me how I can stay up for 24 hours.
Easy peasy.
I suffer wicked insomnia anyway, and have often stayed awake for 24 hours because of that, so instead of playing with my Sims when I can't sleep, I'll be blogging for MS.

I hope all of you insomniacs will join me on July 28th and help keep me awake and keep me company too.
I will have a messenger program on during the whole 24 hours, and when it starts, I'll post up my screen names so we can chat.
This is gonna be great!

Also, if you are a blogads user and would like to donate me a 1 week ad (start date to run the ad, July 23rd) to help promote my charity, I will link you up during the Blogathon to say thanks.
You can use the following text and image, and have the link point to this blogs url. (http://www.mysinglemomlife.com/blog)
