I cheated.

I bought some CM bread machine mix in hawaiian sweet bread flavor.
It tastes like this brand.
Oh my gawd was that awesome.
So simple and very tasty although next time I need to make it with a light crust instead of medium.
I'm learning the machine still.
If you get lazy, try Krusteaz or CM. Very tasty.

In the WTF category.

Farmers grow low carb potato.
It's a potato. It's a vegetable.
I can understand the low carb craze, I can. I have cut down myself but seriously, do we need to start genetically engineering vegetables to be lower in carbs?
Veggies are the food of the land. Millions of vegetarians live on them and millions of people are in good health because of veggies.
I don't understand this one at all.
People complain about chickens with too many chemicals because we started fucking around with them and now a chicken that hasn't been fed antibiotics costs an arm and a leg.
I just don't get this.
You want less carbs? Eat less carbs but don't start messing around with veggies. That's just wrong.
Our meats have chemicals, our regular shelf items are so loaded with chemicals that if we ever hit a nuclear winter, the cockroaches will be very happy with shit from our cupboards.
If we are gonna start messing around with veggies and genetically altering them, may I make a few suggestions other than removing the carbs that nature put in them?
Let's make brussel sprouts taste like chocolate. They are so good for you but face it, they taste like dog shit mixed with cabbage. Let's make them tasty.
Let's make cabbage taste like popcorn from a movie theater.
Let's make peas taste like something that didn't get regurgitated from a babys mouth. And do something about the texture of peas while you're at it ok? It's squishy and sort of sticky. Yuk.
Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?
Changing veggies to suit our needs when this stuff comes out of the earth and has treated us very well for millions of years is just stupid.
Change the man made stuff to have fewer crap in it if you want but leave nature alone.

I'd need to buy my own cow the way milk costs.

Have you all seen this yet? Lose weight by getting 24 ounces of milk every day.
Sounds great right?
Calcium helps to lose body fat. Great!
But have you bought a gallon of milk lately?
The last gallon I bought was $3.75.
3 fucking 75.
For milk.
You got kids? You have to get 2 gallons cuz they drink it and use it on cereal etc.
It's damn expensive and they want you to drink 24 ounces every single day.
I swear, It'd be cheaper to buy my own cow and milk it everyday.

I had to go to the store.

This was the huge display right at the front of the store.
It's not even June 1st and they are already gearing up for July 4th.
In case you can't figure it out, it's an American flag done with Budweiser.
It just screams patriotism doesn't it?

Mmmm.

Sebastian went to the store for us and picked up some frozen yogurt in Moosetracks flavor.
I couldn't find the frozen yogurt on the site but you get the idea.
The frozen yogurt is better than the ice cream actually. It is much creamier.
Maybe it will help my throat calm down a bit. It is so swollen right now. I swear it has to be my tonsils or my adenoids or some shit because this is just wicked painful.
I'm falling apart people.
Don't laugh.
You're gonna get old too.

Mmmmm

I made a trial run of the banana bread. I will make the teachers right before school gets out but I wanted to try a new banana bread recipe first.
No nuts either cuz you just never know who is allergic.
The middle rose a little higher than I wanted it to but it is very yummy.
We already sliced off a piece.
Delicious.

Betcha all thought I wasn't domestic-y huh?
I bake a lot more in the winter than in summer. This house heats up fast with the regular oven and I haven't tried banana bread in the machine yet.
I was sweating my ass off while this 1 loaf cooked.
Gah.

I am single mom.

You are not gonna believe this shit or maybe you will. I was over at jozjozjoz.com this morning and read the most disturbing entry.
I am asian.com.
McDonalds has coined the term and even has a website just for you Asian french fry lovers.
I am waiting for I am white.com and maybe even an I am black.com.
I'd like to see McDonald's pull this shit off with other races.
It's offensive and tasteless and I am just dumbfucked that McDonald's could do this.
The marketing guy who thought this shit up should be fired and his whole team too.

Hey all, I'm back up again

and going to try and make a parmesan/oregano bread today to go with our spaghetti tonight.
Hope you're all having a fabu saturday.
It's quite gorgeous here today, high only at 86o degrees and low humidity.
I'd put one of those weather things on my site, but I have so many scripts, it doesn't show up. I tried.
Anyway, I will let you know how the bread comes out.
Later days.

I need a new colander.

But I don't know if they make what I am looking for.
I need one with a pour spout.
Why?
Because when I make a lot of pasta like I did tonight and dump it in the colander and then try to dump the pasta back into the pot, some of the pasta ends up falling out into the sink.
Wasted pasta.
And don't tell me to just pick it out of the sink. There is usually some dirty dishes in there.
Do any of you cooking and baking people know if any company makes one like what I am looking for?
Anyone?

Ragu sauce sucks.

Ragú really sucks. I hate it but it's all I had in the cupboard.
I had to add sugar, garlic, basil, oregano and a whole slew of other spices to it to make it even taste like something other than tomato soup.
The kids ate it and noticed the difference too.
Yuck.

Tangy Chicken.

Odd recipe but tasty and the kids ate it.
3 chicken breasts or however many you want to cook.
1 large red pepper
1 cup Miracle Whip
2 tbs. plain mustard

Put the chicken in the pan and then cut up the red pepper in small dices.
Mix with the cup of Miracle whip and the mustard in small bowl.
Spoon mixture over chicken and bake in the oven at 350o for 35-40 minutes until chicken juices run clear.
Serve with favorite side.

Tangy and way yummy.
