MT upgrade.

I will be on and off for most of the day due to my back freaking out but I wanted to let you know that comments are now moderated even though that box isn't checked, it's doing that.
So, your comments are not appearing right away.
When I feel better, I will dig around in the new MT digs and see if I can stop that.
It's good for spam and all but I like instant comments myself.

But Jenni does good upgrades. That went off without a hitch.
Very sweet digs in here. I looked around and was like whoa, lots of stuff.

Blogshares sucks ass.

Blogshares is the fantasy blog share game that refuses to answer peoples requests to remove their sites from the game.
I have put in request after request and have been ignored.
I know that Sporty has also requested to no avail, to have hers removed as well.

This is the same bullshit we went through when this fucking game first started.
We had to beg and plead and join the forums and beg the mods to take our blogs, our sites that we pay for, out of his game.
I am not pinging blogrolling or weblogs so this guy can have my site in his game. I am pinging so that my friends who read me, will know I'm alive and kicking. (although slightly fevery today)

I have been asking at least 3-4 times every 2 months for removal of my site(s).
I get no answers. I have emailed every contact address on that site and they ignore the emails.

I'm with Sporty.

Is anyone out there on webtv?
If so, would you mind telling me how shitty this looks in it?
I just did like one of those browser checks and my sidebar looks like it's overlapping but I dunno. I don't have webtv so I don't know if it really looks like hell or not.
My folks read here but if it looks like hell, how the hell are they reading it?
I get all site worry like when I add new things like I'm screwing up the sizes and stuff.
Am I making sense?

Not my site stuff but site stuff all the same.

I am so bored so I decided to go play in Blogger with the new Blogger nav bar. You can just surf through blogspot blogs.
So anyway, here I am clicking next over and over again and a lot of theses sites have like those click yes to install some piece of crap shit thing on your pc and you have to click yes to proceed and you can't click next site until you keep clicking no and clicking no fast ya know what I mean?
Wow.
That was a long run on sentence but whatever.
I hope you figured out what I am talking about and if not, go hit a blogspot blog and run through the nav bar. You'll run into them too.

Go ahead and jump.

I guess if you are worried about your blog jumping the shark, you should probably just quit.
I have such a wide range of topics that I talk about because it's stuff that I really talk about.
I couldn't ever just be a political blogger or a weather blogger or something like that. I just blog whatever the hell I'm thinking about.
If readership goes up, yay. If readership goes down, it's cool.
Blogs go through phases of being really interesting and not so interesting and to some of you, the hurricane is so yesterdays news, but to us who live very close, it's all any of us are talking about.
I'm still posting all my other stuff, my kids, school stuff, medical stuff, my life but this is what is the hot topic right now around here.
So in closing, I guess I don't care if my blog jumps the shark.
I'm just living my life and blogging about it.

I'm just trying to see how many of us there are and also be able to check up on them in times of hurricanes etc. The best news I have found in the hurricane has come from fellow bloggers and not the mainstream media.

Referrer spam sucks.

I have been hit with a massive amount of nasty, sick, twisted referrer spam and so I have been dealing with it and the .htaccess file rewrite rules.
Tons of fun let me tell ya.
I need to get dressed soon to go to my appointment. I need to leave at 1 and all that.

Bob wants to die.

Bob is a comment spammer.
Bob has about a gazillion different ips and a gazillion yahoo addies.
Bob is a dink.
Bob just hit my site approximately 20 times in the last hour.
I have blacklisted Bobs shit but he keeps coming back with more.
So I just spammed the hell out of who ever actually owns the sites he's promoting by fwding all the comments that Bob left and were emailed to me.
I know I shouldn't have but ya know what?
Fuck Bob and the sites he's promoting.

The new skin is up.

You can choose a new skin here.

This skin has a little surprise in the header graphic and the colors are dark but not too dark. I took all the colors from the main image itself. There are also little pictures from the film in the sidebar.
One of them is kinda gross so you have been warned.
If you hate it, like it, think it's so-so, you can tell me. I promise my feelings won't get hurt.
I'm still learning how to do all this stuff and I just goof off for the most part and just do stuff that I like.

In my attempts to learn how to do site stuff,

I do blogger designs with some help from Blogskins.
Yes, anyone can copy paste a template but you have to add the persons stuff back in and tonights blog redesign for Terry, meant I had to deal with tables.
I hate tables.
I loved this design and she liked it too but then I learned it had tables.
I figured it all out and cursed and flicked off the screen a few times and rambled like a loony.
I have only dealt with tables one other time and did the same cursing and stuff.
I am learning how to do stuff slowly and I want to thank my guinea pig friends at blogger blogs, Terry, Heidi, and my son Mark who never updates in his newly acquired anti-social pre-teen attitude, and Sebastian who is easy going and fun.
It's fun to learn something new and I just wanted to say thanks to them for letting me play around.

Every couple of months, someone either signs me up for email pron or signs my site up to get on a list for pron to be directed to this site.
Once again, to those of you coming here looking for that, nope, you won't find it here.
And to the person who is doing it, grow up.
If you have a problem, there's this thing adults do and it's called talking about it.
You can email me and we can discuss whatever it is that I did to piss you off and make you hunt down pron sites to sign me up for.
Or you can keep on thinking your are just so clever and funny and how you'll show me by doing that.

Last night,

Witchymom was talking about how her hubby did a reformat or just really cleaned up the hard drive and now it runs super fast. You don't have to go so far to make your system run like new again. You can go get a free 7 day trial of Window Power Tools which kicks major ass.
I tried this first because I don't want to do a reformat and clean install. I love all the stuff I have on here.
This worked like a breeze. Super easy, no mistakes possible to make with it.
Everything is running like lightning fast and smooth.
Man, you should the favorites menu sub-folders fly open after you run down the list.
It's like new again and I didn't have to wipe my hard drive.

Free audblogging.

Did you guys know that audblog is now free for people with blogger blogs?
I guess that's another reason to try the new blogger.
So it's kind of cool if you're the type of person who enjoys doing audblogs.
I don't do them often because I do have some readers who are hard of hearing and I'm hard of hearing so it doesn't make sense to do these too often but once in awhile it's kind of cool to do it for people who'd like to hear what your voice sounds like so you know, go sign up for a blogger blog if you don't already have one so you can try it out or if you already have one, guess what, it's free!
I just wanted to pass that along.
Found out from Tony Pierce. Someone mentioned it in his comments so I thought I'd pass it along.
But please try to post at least part of your audblog in writing out of courtesy for those who may be deaf or don't have sound available.

WTF?

WTF is with pop ups on blogs?
There are a few blogs that I read that I am seriously considering not reading anymore due to nasty fucking pop ups.
Some of them are blogspot blogs but not all of them.
Are people making money off of these pop ups on their blogs?
Seriously, you'd be better off becoming some sort of affiliate like amazon or something like that rather than pop ups because it's beginning to piss me off to no fucking end.
It's annoying.
I even have pop up blockers and the google toolbar which stops most pop ups but this shit is the sneaky underhanded under browser shit.
If you have pop ups on your blog, can you tell me why and also why anyone should read you if we are going to keep getting spyware on our pcs because you make a few pennies off of them?
I am all for affiliate shit trust me. I do amazon and sideshow to make a few extra dollars to help pay for things, I know that every little penny helps to offset hosting fees etc but pop ups?

Calm down peeps.

Everyone is freaking out over the new pricing structure of MT3.
You do not have to upgrade to the new version. No one can make you switch your version. It's only if you want to.
People are jumping ship and dumping their MT installs and switching over to WP.
Now don't get me wrong, WP worked well when it worked for me but when it broke, I could not fix it.
I did not know, still do not know, the language of php.
It's not for newbies.
The point is, you do not have to upgrade to MT3 nor do you have to switch to a whole new system if you don't want to.
I downloaded another copy of 2.661 just in case something happens to this install.
I can't afford the new shit at all. I honestly, don't know many bloggers who can but no one said you have to move to a new blogging software today. And for those of you who want a spell checker, here ya go. ieSpell - Download.
It's for IE, just right click, spell check, happy days.

Well that sucked.

I just finished hand coding my blogroll again on my links page in the event that we have another outage of blogrolling.
That sucked.
6 hours of downtime.
I missed you all!
So I handcoded all my links and now I can still visit should it happen again.
I kept saying I was going to do it but kept putting it off because it's a pain in the ass but it's now done.
Phew.

Has anyone else noticed?

Ever since Tucows took over blogrolling, they have been down.
A lot.
Like everyday there is at least an hour of blackout time and this causes almost every single blog running their blogroll as part of their sites to load very very very slowly.
Like a death crawl.
A bigger company taking something over isn't always a good thing.

And the whole MT fiasco announced this morning.
Ugh.
I went and grabbed another 2.661 version just for myself.
I read a lot of sites this morning and the majority, actually every site I read, said that they would not be paying what six apart is asking. Tons of migrations over to the cheaper pmachine.
I'll just hang onto my little ol MT install until it breaks or whatever.
I am not changing back to word press ever. Hell would have to freeze over before I went back to that.
And just look at those trackbacks.
Six Apart shot themselves in the foot, the leg, the hand and pretty soon, their heads.

Ha! Take that!

I just figured out how to stop image linkers.
Don't even say it's in my control panel because it isn't.
I use a different host.
It was pretty simple to do. Just have a few more pages of mine to add so that they show correctly for me.

Made an anime skin.

I am having fun making skins now that I know how.
The boys told me to make a Cowboy Bebop skin so I did.
The text appears white fixed that, in Mozilla but still looks good. It's readable.

I tried my hand at skinning today.

Not too bad for my first try.
I just can't figure out which little section will change the color of the text in the sidebar.

If anyone knows which section of the css file changes the text color in the sidebar, post it in the comments.
I know that must sound stupid but I honestly, just spent like all frigging day doing one little skin and I am going blind trying to figure out the fucking text link for the sidebar.
I just can't figure it out.

I redid the boys blogs today.

With the free templates from Blogskins.
I made Marks a little more teenish for him. He hates school so that template was perfect. He likes it. Now if I could just get him to say more when he's there...
I did Sebastians after one of his favorite games, Kingdom Hearts.
I do love the free templates that blogskins has for the creatively challenged like myself.
I redid Heidis with a skin from there a few weeks ago.

That's really all that's going on. I have some dishes to do if I can.
Back is just not cooperating with me.
Oh well.

Odd linkage.

I found an odd link in the referrer script and plan on figuring out why, how, it's linking to me.
It's not a good linkage either.
I have a feeling that it's the same person who signs me up for free email porn all the time.
They seriously need to grow up.
I can just imagine them though sitting there after filling in my email address or the link form, and having themselves a good giggle.
How clever and funny they must think they are.
I'm so impressed with your ability to fill in forms on porn sites.
But when you sign people up for emails, they log YOUR ip and they have been freely giving them to me.
