Blingo ingo go go!
I freaking love Blingo still!
Kymberlie alerted her readers in a post when Blingo first came out, and used her sign up link, so I clicked it and became a friend under her, so anytime I win a prize, she wins it too.
Congrats Kymberlie! *LOL*
I know it's not a huge prize this time, but it's still wicked way cool.
What did we just win?
A $5 gift cert to Amazon.com.

I would have taken the movie ticket, I did have a choice, but I still have a free ticket I won sitting in my account at Blingo, good until December 30th.
Seeing as I never get to the movies, getting another free ticket would be pointless. It would sit there just as that one has since I won it on February 5th '07.
Yeah, no point in getting more free movie tickets. hahaha
I've actually won a lot of movie tickets, just take a look at this. I think a few even expired on me. Ooops!
Clicky for bigger.
Have you signed up for Blingo yet?
No?!
Well sign up now under me, and when you search for stuff and maybe get that lucky winner page, it'll be one of the huge prizes, and both of us will win it!
Wouldn't that be cool?
You know you wanna win a brand new car or a couple grand doncha?!
Don't you wanna see that page that says Congratulations! You've just won $10,000! (I have seen them have that as a prize, and they change the prizes daily)
I just always get such a kick out of seeing that page pop up, that I completely forget what I was searching for...*LOL*

It's settled, I live in funk-ville.
I'm in a funk, a mood funk. I just really don't feel like doing much of anything.
The boys left for school and I went back to sleep until 10:30, and even then I didn't want to get up.
I'm not depressed, I swear, if one more person says that, I'm gonna freaking explode!
I'm just not in the mood to deal with bullshit anymore, and it seems it's everywhere.
As hard as I try to remove myself from it, I get brought back around to it, and it's pissing me off.
What the fuck is the matter with people?!
I love when people choose to blow shit way the fuck out of proportion, and then when it comes back to them, they run and hide. Those balls they thought they had, shriveled up and tucked back inside.
I need to get myself moving though, I have my daily walk to do even though my right calf hurts like crazy.
I'm lacking potassium I think. Maybe 7-11 will have some bananas. Doubt it, but I can look.
Next week is just crazy busy for me.
I have Mark's rescheduled doc appointment on Monday, pain doc on Thursday, there's no school on Friday, and I also have Doc M. on Friday morning.
I'll be taking Sebastian with me and sis because Susan has no school either, and Sebastian can help keep her entertained in the car and at the docs.
Lucky he's at the Tampa office on Friday and not in Safety Harbor which is a wicked long ride. Poor Susan would be a wreck by the time we got all the way up there.
There's a new guess the movie up at Twisted Psycho. This one is soooo freaking easy!

Keeping that eye blind.
Yesterday I posted about a free book give a way, and only had one taker, so Lucy, the book is yours.
I'm having a weird day, I just don't feel like doing much of anything, deep in thought.
It annoys me when people try to tell you how to feel about something, like you have no right to feel how you do, and certainly no right to say how you feel.
I don't know. Maybe it would be different if I was the only one who was feeling this way, maybe I would be wrong, but I'm not the only one.
October 8, 2007
Give-a-way.
I have a book to give a way, it's called Knock Yourself Up: No Man? No Problem: A Tell-All Guide to Becoming a Single Mom, it was sent to me directly from the publishers, the Penguin Group, who thought my readers may be interested in it.
This book hasn't been released yet (will be released on October 18th), so you'd be getting a brand new preview copy.
Book description;
More and more women are choosing not to let being single stand in the way of becoming a mom. In this honest and often hilarious guide, Louise Sloan shares the details of her own funny and heartbreaking journey to single motherhood-including cyberstalking an anonymous sperm donor, dealing with exploding semen vials, and being mistaken for a horse breeder-as well as the experiences of many other women across the country. Knock Yourself Up offers an inside look at the logistical and legal processes of opting for single motherhood, drawing on the personal stories of women who have done it. Addressing a range of topics such as coping with loneliness, financial struggles, complex reactions of family members, and more, Knock Yourself Up covers the emotional and practical issues and provides the kind of intimate answers you won't find anywhere else to questions like:- When is the right time to decide to have a baby alone?
- How do I choose the right sperm?
- Is this fair to the kid?
- How do I tell my parents?
- How do I tell my dates?
- What's it like to be pregnant on your own?
- If I do this, will I ever have sex-or a life-again?Informative and entertaining, Knock Yourself Up is a fun-to-read, up-to-date guide for any woman who is considering taking the baby plunge, with inspiring stories from women who have created happy families on their own.
This is going to be a super fast give away, if you are interested in getting this book, just leave a comment below, I will draw a winner tomorrow morning, (Tuesday), and mail it out on Wednesday.
I read through a few of the chapters when I received it on Saturday, and it is a very entertaining read, so if you would like to have this, just leave a comment.
Sorry, this is only open to US and Canadian residents, I simply can't ship anywhere else.
There is also a new Guess the movie posted on Twisted Psycho.
September 26, 2007
Can you name the movie?
I'm having a new monthly contest over at Twisted Psycho, called name the movie.
You can see the first clue and all the details on this entry.

Ok to go. Ok to go.
I'm hoping those are the words I hear on my next appointment with my surgeon, Dr. M next month.
I want so badly for him to give the ok for me to get back to my home based business of jewelry making.
Sooo bad.
I miss it so much, and I have all these awesome ideas.
I still have the shoulder issues, and when working with the wires and threading small beads, and clamps, it puts pressure on my shoulder and causes that flare up.
I know cuz I tried to make a piece and nearly wrecked my shoulder.
*sigh*
I just want to do it again so much. It is relaxing and gives me a creative outlet.
I have so many beads now too. I have slowly been buying items I love and making plans for pieces, I have everything written down, and drawn out.
I just want this so much, and for all this time, he's been saying nope, your shoulder can't take the pressure yet.
It's just not right.
*sad*

New Amazon widgets.
I'm really liking the new Amazon widgets for associates, and even for website owners who wish to add their wish lists to their blogs.
This is the new wish list widget.
It's small, fully customizable, and is better than the traditional text link that we've had for wish lists for years.
Now, people can see your list, and the products you like, right from your site, and click on it if they choose for more information.
It's pretty snazzy if you ask me.
September 9, 2007
Two new movie reviews.
Over the weekend, I watched a few new movies, and have posted them on Twisted Psycho.
One was excellent, and the other sucked.
You'll have to go read to find out.
September 2, 2007
Blog interview.
You might have noticed this box in my sidebar.
It's the Blog Interviewer voting widget.
Every month, all the blogs that have done interviews, get voted on, and the top 3 with the most votes can win cash prizes for $50, $35, and $15 respectively at the end of the month.
The button goes straight to my interview, and you can read it, and then give it a thumbs up or down.
Seeing as it's the start of a new month, I figured I should do a little shameless self promotion.
It can't hurt right?
I figure if I win one of the cash prizes, it will be less money out of my pocket to towards the mp3 player I want.
The less money I have to spend, the less mom guilt I'll have. ha haha
August 20, 2007
You can still vote!!
Go here and vote for #13!
That's #13!!
I just need to stay in the top 5 and it does allow you to vote once a day. The voting ends at noon today, August 2oth, EST.
Pweeeease! *laughs*

Contest time!
I am having a contest. It is to win either a book or a DVD, both brand new.
The book is The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer.
The DVD is Casino Royale (2-Disc Full Screen Edition).
This is how this is going to work.
If you want to be entered in the contest, simply write a quick post about the contest on your blog. Link to this contest entry, and 1 link to my main page. (http://www.mysinglemomlife.com/blog)
Then send me the link to your post in an email, (mysinglemomlifeATgmail.com subject line = contest) along with your first name.
Totally easy.
Your name and url will be written on a piece of paper, folded up, tossed into a hat or bucket, or whatever we can find laying around, and on Saturday morning, yes, this Saturday morning, Sebastian will pull out two names.
I can video this, no sound on the camera, but it will be a video taped drawing and the video will be uploaded.
The first name drawn will have their choice, and the 2nd name drawn will get the one that is left.
So you have 3 days to write your post and enter.
Totally easy.
I will then ship the items to the respective winners on Monday morning.
This contest is open to bloggers in the USA and Canada only.
May 15, 2007
New contest starts tomorrow!
I am having a new contest starting tomorrow.
I have two great prizes to give away, a really great book, and a really great DVD.
All anyone who wants to enter has to do is, write a post on their blog linking to my contest entry, and 1 (one) link to my home page.
Just a quickie post telling others about the contest, so that they can enter too.
The contest will be open to bloggers from the USA and Canada only. (shipping costs to other countries are too much for me, sorry y'all)
I'll post up all the specifics sometime after midnight tonight with full instructions, (it's easy) and it will remain open until Friday, and the winners will be drawn on Saturday morning.
The first name drawn will get their choice of the book or movie, and the second place will get the other one.
Yes, I will post what the prizes are in the post.
So be on the look out for that after midnight tonight!

Several new ad placements.
There are several new ads here on my blog, they can all be found in the sidebar.
I believe in honesty and full disclosure, always have.
Having ads and getting paid for them is something I have always discussed and disclosed, with my readers.
There is a small block of ads from Biz Rate, 2 new Blogads, and a new block of ads from Text-Link Ads.
Being compensated helps me pay my bills. They pay my hosting, my domain name renewal, my ever mounting medical bills, and then some fun things for the teens and myself.
Thank you to all my great advertisers, and thank you to all my great readers who check them out.

Best compliment I've ever received.
Metal-head, rocker chick, party girl who didn't drink, verging on Goth who swears by black fashion, and with a mouth as foul as the garbage can down by the darkest harbour...
Lattégirl wrote up the best compliment I've ever gotten in my whole life.
You can go here to read the whole thing, but seriously, that made me have the biggest smile.
Thanks Girl, I'm still smiling.
January 11, 2007
Very cool, thank you.
I was going through my stats this morning and I spotted this from the Orlando Sentinel. Orlando Sentinel Parenting blog.
I'm on a very short list of blogs they like.
Thank you. I'm honored.

Advertiser Friday.
I love my advertisers, they help pay the bills baby, so do me a favor, check them out. Some of them are pretty cool.
October 20, 2006
Neato!
I was checking out my Amazon affiliate account tonight, I haven't looked at it in ages, and saw they now offer a neat feature. It's called an astore.
Affiliates add in items of their choosing and Amazon then builds a storefront with those items. You can customize how it looks and what's in the sidebar etc. I'll be changing it up every now and then with new items.
So I played around with it and I like it!
Wanna see?
Check out my Amazon store!
I also want to send a big shout out to my advertisers, please click on their links and check them out.
The blogads are at the top of the sidebar on the Keanu skin and a little further down on the others.
But here's some of my other advertisers, go check them all out.
Thanks!

Blog spotlight at St. Pete Times?
Yup, I'm the blog spotlight at the St. Pete Times on-line.
The buzz: Snappy design and addictive entries are accented by fun, day-in-the-life-of photos.That snappy design is mostly due to Jenni. She did all the base work, I just threw a Santa hat on Keanu...lol Oh this part cracks me up;
The following is a list of blogs about Tampa Bay or written by residents of the area we think are worth your time. While we're happy to act as a blog aggregator, we at the Times can't vouch for the validity, photos, language or grammar skills of these authors. Read them at your own risk.We all know that when you come here, you are reading at your own risk. My spelling and grammar is good but watch out for the foul language, it'll get ya every time!...lmao
July 11, 2005
I am just very busy today making as many new things as I can think of.
I have so much I need to be able to do so if there's something you like here, buy it...lol
Want something made? Let me know.
I will/can make just about anything.
I am going to scan and post my new stuff later all in one batch and sis brought me over an artist lamp with magnifier so I can see the smaller beads better and stuff so that was cool.
I love them going back to school man but ouch, I am freaking out the cost of supplies. I have some stuff already but high school is a whole new ball game.
I remember when all you needed was a notebook, some pens and pencils and backpack.
You should see the lists nowadays.
They will be coming this week through the mail for Sebastian and Mark brings home his full list either today or sometime this week.
So yeah, you need anything made or want to purchase a per-made one, that would be cool.
Later days.
May 31, 2005
I could totally use $1,000.00
Go vote for me...lol
April 13, 2005
A girl could get used to this.
The boys are off to school, I started my laundry, feeling pretty good again today other than a pain in my neck today.
Slept crooked I think. *shrug* *ouch*
Don't shrug Kat.
Got a funny kind of email.
Some guy emails and asks me to put his url for his credit repair stuff on my site. Gives me all kinds of keywords, urls, etc.
I wrote back and told him it's $40 a month to advertise on my blog.
Let's see if he does...lol
Some foreign name. Heh heh.
Need to get to the library or just renew them again because next Wednesday, the boys have dental appointments out at my dental/docs and the first bus stops downtown anyway.
Why make an extra trip by myself if I don't have to?
Yes, I'm lazy but in pain so there. ![]()
Still feeling creative so I'm going to make more pieces today after I get in a shower.
If you need a mothers day gift, let me know. There's still time to make them and get them mailed priority.
Later days.
April 9, 2005
This is my newest set.
It is pink quartz, purple glass, green jade quartz and sterling silver accent bead caps with sterling silver ear wires.
I love this set. That is like my biggest problem with making pieces. I love them all so much I hate to offer them up for sale but alas, this set is for sale cuz I need money to pay some upcoming bills.
The bracelet fits a 6" inch wrist or smaller very nicely.
I am asking $25 for the set.
If interested, please email, first come, first get as it is one of a kind.
Remember, mothers day is coming up soon and I would love to help you make something nice for your mom.
*Please excuse the image. My scanner was doing some funky yellow stripes for some reason and making the rest of the image dark.

I'm up I swear.
I slept bad. Just tossed and turned most of the night and when the alarm went off I just sort of stared at the clock like you have got to be kidding me? It can't be 5:30 yet???
But it's time to get up and get dressed and when the boys leave, I'm heading up to my sisters for the day to watch Skye.
One baby should be a whole lot easier than yesterday.
She's spoiled though. She loves to be cuddled and rocked for hours.
I don't mind but she doesn't know how to fall asleep on her own.
I'll get on line when I can from over there. I'm sure she'll nap at some point during the day so I can at least check emails and stuff.

Damn you KFC.
I hate prime time food commercials cuz then you get hungry for the stuff they are showing and man that KFC looked good so I called ex-roommate at work and told her boss that she needed to call me before she comes home because we decided we needed chicken in a bad way.
The store she works at makes awesome honey bbq chicken tenders better than KFC so I get my chicken anyway. Nah nah.
I just got another huge order for watches.
Oh my gawd.
I can do it.
I need a clear head though to organize and figure out colors etc and I'm too tired and silly from pain meds tonight to do that so in the morning I will organize and visualize and plan and get cracking on it.
I only have 14 days to make all of Carrie's order and now 5 watches.
I can do it. I will be shipping them out by priority when finished so they will get there in time for xmas.
I'm excited though.
I love making watches.
I learn new ways to twist the wires around and stuff so that they look cool. Smaller disc sized beads don't do well with twisting so I had to make Christines watch (last blue set at the bottom) in a single strand but it had good weight to it so I was confident it would hold up well and not roll around too much on the wrist.
I look forward to getting to make 5 very different watches. I love making jewelry. It's very soothing and therapeutic.
Ok, all for now.
I'm waiting on chicken fingers (I know it's late but I'm hungry and well, I don't care if I'm eating late. You only live once and I can drop weight in a flash if I need to and not that I need to cuz I'm not overweight right now just broken.)
Watching the Di interviews cuz I love gossip and gossip from the grave rocks.
Oh the secrets I could whisper from beyond.
Later days.
November 23, 2004
Title schmitle.
I need to get up and take a shower. I've been a bum for 2 days now. Maybe that's part of my funk eh? Anyway, I need a shower and then I need to walk to the post office and mail out Jennies watch. Sorry babe. Had to wait on that money transfer and it didn't hit the bank until yesterday so no fundage until today. Mailing priority. Thanks so much. I love this one.
Is it wrong that I love everything I've made?...lol
Christine just placed an order for a watch and necklace and I ordered all the materials for it last night. I have a vision for this set. I can see it and the stuffs not even here yet.
I have to clean off my kitchen table for turkey day. Right now it's beading central but I need to pick it all up and move it for t-day dinner. It's pretty easy to move around. I have all my beads in baby food jars. My sister has a baby and I needed storage for my beads so I make her save all the jars...lol Each color/style/finding/ear wire goes in a jar and it makes it so easy to find what I want/need to do a project. Just lay out all the color jars I want and see if they match.
Easy cheesy.
I'm making t-day dinner for me and ex-roommate and the boys this year. My sis is flying to Maine early t-day morning. Someday I'll get back up there and visit again when I have the money to do it.
Making turkey of course, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry saucy stuff (gag), some sort of vegetable. I don't do the green bean casserole. I can't for the life of me figure out why people like that. It's so nasty. Green beans, mushroom soup, and those nasty freeze dried onions. (Vomit)
I refuse to even make it. If people want to eat that shit, they can make it themselves and bring it.
I'll do everything else no problem, heck I'd even make sweet potatoes with marshmallows if I thought the other people here would eat them but I don't like those either but I would make them for others cuz they do smell so good while cooking.
Um, I will have pie, rolls and the usual stuff. It's just the 4 of us so I don't need to go crazy with food but the turkey I got could feed like 10 people so I guess we'll be eating turkey for a few days....lol
Alright, kids have left and I can go take a shower and get moving here.
Have a great day.
Later days.
November 21, 2004
I got this invitation sorta.
To write something anecdotal about motherhood and kids about once a month for a website and a FLA newspaper.
I don't do anecdotal.
Not that my kids haven't done or said some funny things as they've grown up but I dunno, I just don't write fluff very well.
I am a much better writer when pissed off. I can write like there's no tomorrow about stupid teachers and school violence. I can write about how teachers fear a students artwork because it doesn't reflect their own values and morals or how bullies are free to bully and victims should seek counseling.
I can write about how my now 13 year old son is feeling his way through life and starting to mouth off and how my 11 year old stomps and complains about a single chore to do.
I do write fluff about the house, the lawn, the cats but I don't think I could honestly come up with some fluffy filler feel good story on command.
So much for fame eh? It's not a great loss either because no one was getting paid. Sure, the hits would be nice but with more visitors comes more responsibility to well, say things that are responsible and also more people possibly telling me just how wrong I am on a whole slew of subjects.
I get enough of that as it is.

This rocks!!
Grodi Girl sent the boys a few of these wireless remotes she had laying around. The boys were thrilled to death. I swear, they couldn't have been happier if it was Christmas morning.
I got a chance to play with them today after they charged up and man oh man, was it so much better than the corded controllers.
No cords pulling the PS2 nearly down to the floor, no tangled cords, no tripping over cords and they really do work up to 30 feet away.
Some of the reviews on Amazon are bad but it's mostly to do with having to wait 12 hours for the battery pack to charge.
Play with your regular controller while it charges you dumb people. I mean c'mon, no cords! Chargeable battery, not having to buy new ones all the time. Shut up and play you freaks.
My next challenge, and I know, I'm sure it can be done, is to have them usable in the multi-tap. They don't seem to want to work that way but I know there is a way and I will find it dammit!
Thanks again to Grodi girl. They love them, I love them. Much fun is being had by all.
May 29, 2004
Plugging my stuff.
Being at home and unable to work due to my back, I have had to get creative in ways to make money. I have sold on Ebay and when ex-roommate gets back, both her and I will be doing that again as a team seeing as she can work outside the house and I can't. I'll be doing the uploading and monitoring of the stuff and she will get the stuff and we will be able to take some bill pressure off of both of us.
I also added a new section to my Amazon links for those of you who don't know that Amazon now sells beauty products. They sell a HUGE line of all your favorite brands of makeup and skin care and perfume. This button is also in the sidebar.

I also got approved for Googles adsense. I have no idea how it really works but we shall see if it actually makes me any money. Those are in the sidebar too.
Please click through my Amazon links to buy your stuff that you need or want cuz I got a birthday coming in August for Mark and I have until the end of June to get money for that and that is how I buy those gifts for birthdays and xmas, I appreciate every penny earned so much. Thank you to all of you who do buy through there and a big thank you to those people who have placed my links on their sites.
And if you use Mary Kay, please get in touch with Christine. She is an amazing friend. She is kind and caring and a wonderful lady who has helped me out and sent me a few cool gifties that she was getting rid of that she no longer needed but I could use like the bread machine and a food chopper and a movie that I love.
Thanks to everyone who helps me out with your clicks. It really does make a huge difference when those birthdays and xmas roll around.
April 24, 2004
It's going to be another boring day around here.
So I figure I'll work on my movie page again.
It's kind of funny.
I thought when I was selling everything off this past year that I had sold most of my movies. I mean, I really sold a lot of movies but shit man, I still have a lot to do.
I also had completely forgotten about my affiliate link to Sideshow. I get this email from them the other day and just to see, I went and looked at my stats. Hey! What do ya know! A big item sold and I made $20.
Woot!
So I added my link to them here too. It can't hurt.
Mark loves that stuff but he still doesn't know how to take care of things so getting a collectible like they sell is out of the question until he can learn that some stuff, isn't for playing with.
And yeah, this is a new category.
Every sale through one of my links helps me out and I know that some of you do and I thank you for that.
