Freddie Mercury 5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991

16 years ago today, music and the world, lost one of it's brightest and most talented musicians.
He was born under the name Farrokh Bulsara, and was the lead singer of the rock band Queen, who were inducted in to the Rock N' Roll hall of fame in 2001.

He was a singer, songwriter, and loved by millions of fans around the world.
His sexual orientation was always under question, they couldn't ever leave him alone, always wanting to know if he was gay.
A question he didn't answer with the truth, but never lied either, he just didn't answer.
On November 23, 1991, Freddie Mercury told the world in a press conference he had AIDS.
24 hours later, he passed away.
It was a sad day for fans of Freddie and the band Queen, and I don't think any fan will ever forget hearing the news.

His death and the announcement, made news around the world.
The remaining members of Queen held a tribute concert on April 20th 1992 at Wembley Stadium to a sold out crowd of 72,000, and more than 1 billion viewers watched it live.
I was one of those people glued to my tv that day to watch the tribute to one of the worlds finest musicians.

Queen had an astounding 29 records, which still sell today.
New fans find their music and are amazed at the voice and talent of the bands brilliant front man, thanks to movies and video games like Guitar Hero.
He will never be forgotten by long time fans, and the music will live on as new generations discover the wonder of Queen.
If asked to pick a favorite song, I couldn't do it, so I'll just post one of the ones I really like a lot, or two.

You are missed Freddie.
